All-Asian Satellite Television and Radio Operator (or better known as Astro) is a Malaysian direct broadcast satellite (DBS) Pay TV service. It transmits digital satellite television and radio to households in Malaysia and Brunei and has operations at the All Asia Broadcast Centre located in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur and MEASAT in Cyberjaya. Astro was granted an exclusive license as a sole Pay TV provider by the Malaysia federal government until 2022. Until then, it will be the only DBS provider in Malaysia. Its only with their allies is HyppTV, a IPTV service by TM who carry their 5 Astro channels. As of September 2014, astro provided services to over four million subscribers.

Astro is a wholly owned subsidiary of Astro All Asia Networks plc. and operated by MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems Sdn. Bhd. This company was de-listed from the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 14 June 2010, following a successful take-over offer by Astro Holdings Sdn Bhd, a company owned by Tegas Sdn Bhd and its affiliates and Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

The Extinctioners is a science fiction, action and adventure comic book that uses anthropomorphic animals as its main characters. After the first six issues of Extinctioners, two groups were formed; The Extinctioners and the Solar Foxes. Following is a list of the main characters in the series.

Alleycat

Katherine Fela (also known as Alleycat) is an anthropomorphic feline and a character in the Extinctioners comic book series.

Little did Katherine Fela know that on her 16th cycle (which is equivalent to 18 human years) her life would be forever changed. While returning home from a date with her pre-mate (boyfriend) Maxwell Manx, Katherine was attacked by a monstrous robot, called an Omega Hunter, bent on either capturing her or killing her. Upon instructions from Maxwell, Katherine fled in hopes of escape, but ended up trapping herself in a dead end alley. Cornered, Katherine was confronted by another Hunter unit and was ordered to surrender. When she failed to comply fast enough, the Hunter fired on her, but to her surprise she was untouched. Fortunately, she was saved by a band of vulpins called the Solar Foxes, who promised to return her home safely. However, she soon discovered that the Hunters had also paid her home a visit.

Copycat is a model of analogy making and human cognition based on the concept of the parallel terraced scan, developed in 1988 by Douglas Hofstadter, Melanie Mitchell, and others at the Center for Research on Concepts and Cognition, Indiana University Bloomington. The original Copycat was written in Common Lisp and is bitrotten (as it relies on now-outdated graphics libraries); however, a Java port exists.

Description

Copycat produces answers to such problems as "abc is to abd as ijk is to what?" (abc:abd :: ijk:?). Hofstadter and Mitchell consider analogy making as the core of high-level cognition, or high-level perception, as Hofstadter calls it, basic to recognition and categorization. High-level perception emerges from the spreading activity of many independent processes, called codelets, running in parallel, competing or cooperating. They create and destroy temporary perceptual constructs, probabilistically trying out variations to eventually produce an answer. The codelets rely on an associative network, slipnet, built on pre-programmed concepts and their associations (a long-term memory). The changing activation levels of the concepts make a conceptual overlap with neighboring concepts.
