SuperStar (previously known as Česko Slovenská SuperStar) is a joint Czech and Slovak version of the Idol series' Pop Idol. It was merged from Česko hledá SuperStar and Slovensko hľadá SuperStar, which previously had three individual seasons each. The first season premiered in September 2009 with castings held in Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Košice. It is broadcast on TV Nova in the Czech Republic and on Markíza in Slovakia which have also been the broadcast stations for the individual seasons. Also both hosts have been their hosts countries before as have been three out of the four judges. To legitimate a fair chance for each country's contestants to reach the final, twelve of the contestants will compete split into genders and nationalities in the semifinals, guaranteeing a 50% share for each country in the top 12.

Dara Rolins, also known as Darin[k]a Rolincová (born Darina Gambošová, December 7, 1972) is a Slovak recording artist and entrepreneur. Her music career began at the age of nine, after being cast in the television musical Zázračný autobus (1981). The early role established a formula for her regular assignments as a child singer and resulted in recording her debut album Keby som bola princezná Arabela (1983) on OPUS Records. By her late teens, Rolins appeared in a number of made-for-TV films of varying quality, as well as managing to deliver a series of teen pop-orientated albums, such as Darinka (1986),Čo o mne vieš (1988) and soundtrack Témeř ružový příběh (1990), all released by Supraphon. Along with Karel Gott, she experienced a one-off success in the German-speaking region in 1986, peaking with their duet "Fang das Licht" ("Catch the Light") (the German version of their Czech duet "Zvonky štěstí") at number seven on the Austrian Singles Chart, and number fifteen in Germany.

Team is a contemporary Slovak rock music band. They are most famous for a single from their third album which was called "Držím ti miesto", which was included in the soundtrack of the 2005 American film Hostel.
