SayIntentions.AI

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SayIntentions.AI is an AI-powered, voice recognition-based air traffic control (ATC) system developed by SayAgain Solutions, LLC, designed for use in flight simulators. This system aims to enhance the realism and immersion of flight simulation by utilizing advanced artificial intelligence technologies. It is compatible with major flight simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) and X-Plane. The software is in early access as of June, 2024.

SayIntentions.AI employs GPT-4 to interpret and respond to pilot communications in real time. This allows for interactions that are more natural and less dependent on rigid command structures, accommodating non-standard phraseology and various communication styles. The system supports a wide range of flight types, including Visual Flight Rules (VFR), Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), and multiplayer scenarios. It covers over 88,000 airports worldwide and is available in multiple languages to cater to a diverse user base.

SayIntentions.AI integrates real-time weather data and provides Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) broadcasts that reflect current conditions in the simulator. It supports detailed ATC procedures, continuously updated based on user feedback and testing. Designed to be user-friendly, the system includes features such as a student pilot mode and a free trial period, making it accessible to both novice and experienced users. This approach aims to lower the barrier to entry for flight simulation enthusiasts.[1][2][3][4]

Development and technology

The development of SayIntentions.AI was led by Brian Shellabarger, an AI specialist, and a programmer with expertise in C# and C++. Their objective was to address the limitations of existing ATC systems, which often lack dynamic interaction and realism. By integrating GPT-4, SayIntentions.AI provides a system that understands and adapts to various pilot communications.

Future developments

Future enhancements for SayIntentions.AI include expanding VFR capabilities, introducing traffic-aware ATC, and improving support of international airspaces. The development team is also exploring ways to optimize costs and improve the pricing model as the technology advances.[1][2][3][4]
