Coleen Rooney: I thought my marriage might have been over

Coleen Rooney admits she thought her marriage to Wayne Rooney might have been over.

In an emotional post on Facebook, she has opened up about her relationship since her husband was arrested for drink driving in another woman's car.

Coleen says Wayne has "made silly and selfish mistakes, some he's learnt from, some obviously not".

The mum of three also says they've spent time apart and she'd be "fine on her own".

Coleen says she doesn't need anyone feeling sorry for her and admits some people probably think she's "stupid" for staying in her marriage.

"I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it's something I want to try and work on," she says.

She's decided to talk about her feelings "before the headlines start". Coleen insists she's not taking Wayne back because "he never left".

But she admits she thought the "marriage might have been over".

It's clear she thinks alcohol was a big part of what happened.

"One thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence.

"I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically."

After being found over the drink drive limit in September, Wayne was banned from driving for two years and ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order.

Coleen and Wayne Rooney are expecting their fourth child. They already have three boys - Kai, Klay and Kit.

They've been married for nine years and met when Coleen was 16-years-old.

While stressing that she's determined to make the relationship work, there's clearly still anger over what's happened.

"I'm not going to list his good qualities as a person," says Coleen.

"I don't think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad.

"He's made silly and selfish mistakes, some he's learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change?"

She ends the message by saying she still loves Wayne and that she wants to continue to live as a family.

"I'm not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point."
