Faculty in the HSE “Open Lecture Project” for School Students

The Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, in cooperation with the HSE Center for Cooperation with Regions, conducts a series of lectures “Civilizations and the Map of the World”. The first lecture “China: the path of the dragon 3,000 years long” was held on April 4.

As part of the “Open Lecture Project”, implemented by the Center for Cooperation with Regions of the Higher School of Economics, The Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs conducts a series of lectures “Civilizations and the map of the world”. The course is aimed at immersion in the history, culture, politics and economy of China, Japan, the countries of the Arab East and Latin America. 

A series of lectures on Chinese civilization “China from antiquity to the present day: history, culture, politics and economics” will be held during the week of April 4-10. 

The first lecture “China: the path of the dragon 3000 years long” was held by Professor A.N. Karneev, head of the School of Asian Studies. In his speech, the professor spoke about the main historical milestones in the development of China, about the peculiarities of the mentality of the Chinese people, about the main bright and important events that determined China as we see it today. 

The course will continue with a lecture by A.S. Pyatachkova “Modern China: no friends, but interests?”. The project is being implemented for school students and future applicants.
