Abstract

I am excited to have been reelected to serve as Chair of SIGMIS for July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2007! I look forward to serving the members of SIGMIS in the best way that I can. I would like to thank all of you for your support. Before announcing our newly elected officers, I wish to thank our two departing officers for their past service: Laurie Schatzberg, University of New Mexico, served as the Vice Chair since July 1, 2001. As Conrad Shayo, CPR'06 Conference Chair, said so well, "Laurie is so kind, she nudges me along saying nicely: 'you better ha...'" I wholeheartedly agree. Laurie has a gentle way of keeping things on track. She is an invaluable source of inspiration, ideas, and follow-through in her service to SIGMIS. I know I will miss her dearly as she pursues greater responsibilities at the University of New Mexico.Dorothy Leidner, Texas Christian University, served as Secretary/Treasurer since July 1, 2001. I am happy that she will continue as a Co-Editor of Data Base with Wynne Chin, University of Houston. Her outstanding dedication and service to SIGMIS is greatly appreciated.I would like to welcome our new officers, whom I look forward to working with:
Diane Lending, James Madison University, ACM-SIGMIS Vice Chair
Don Amoroso, Appalachian State University, ACM-SIGMIS Secretary/Treasurer
