Abstract
This article presents a model to register and to accredit higher education institutions in engineering based on the new advances that they have carried out using the CMMI model (Capability Maturity Model Integration—Software Development) and the knowledge management. The proposed model looks to improve the capacity of engineers and engineering students, as well as the processes in engineering institutions. What is pursued with this feedback is the multilevel refinement of engineering programs as an instrument that assures the mobility of programs to regions that are still deficient in accreditation systems.
