About the authors
Philipp Rostalski is a professor for Electrical Engineering in Medicine and head of the corresponding institute at the University of Lübeck. He received his Ph. D. degree from ETH Zurich, Switzerland and served as a Feodor Lynen Scholar at the Department of Mathematics, University of California Berkeley, USA. His research activities include model- and data-driven methods in signal processing and control for safety critical systems. The primary application domains are biomedical and autonomous systems.
Thomas Schauer studied Electrical Engineering at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. He received his Ph. D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. As a senior researcher in the Control Systems Group (Fachgebiet Regelungssysteme) at the Technische Universität Berlin, he manages the research focuses “Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology” and “Control of Light and Adaptive Structures in Civil Engineering”.
