RIASSUNTO In questo contributo è presentata la ricostruzione 3D di una porzione dell'unità tetton... more RIASSUNTO In questo contributo è presentata la ricostruzione 3D di una porzione dell'unità tettono-metamorfica (UTM) Languard-Tonale (Austroalpino delle Alpi Centrali). L'evoluzione tettono-metamorfica di questa area è caratterizzata da sei fasi deformative: tre prealpine e tre alpine. Le strutture alpine sono registrate anche dalle rocce intrusive permiane. La storia deformativa e metamorfica è stata ricostruita attraverso l'analisi meso-e micro-strutturale, correlando i fabric sovrapposti e il loro supporto mineralogico.

The ophiolite sequence includes ultramafic rocks, metagabbros and mafic rocks covered by calcschists.

The pre-Alpine evolution of this unit holds important clues about the Palaeozoic crustal structure at the northern margin of the Adria continent, about the history of rifting in the Alpine region, and thus about the thermomechanical conditions that preceded the Alpine convergent evolution.

This Lower Permian formation of the Trompia Basin was fed by the erosion products of the Variscan chain.
Abstract Siliceous crust-type (SCT) formations are pervasive silicified horizons associated with ... more Abstract Siliceous crust-type (SCT) formations are pervasive silicified horizons associated with fluorite-barite-polymetallic sulfide mineralization in carbonate rocks. They almost invariably show a peculiar grid-work texture formed by microcrystalline quartz. The mineralogical and textural features of several SCT samples from Italy, Spain, France, China, and Brazil were investigated by optical and electron microscopy and X-ray and neutron powder diffraction.

We distinguish pre-Permian rocks (eg, amphibolite, biotite-bearing gneiss and acid granulite) preserved as roof pendants (ie, xenoliths) within Permian intrusives.
HP terranes dominated by continental crust represent the end result of a sequence of processes th... more HP terranes dominated by continental crust represent the end result of a sequence of processes that operate at lithosphere scale, ie rifting, subduction/accretion, return flow/exhumation. To under¬ stand the dynamics of the subduction channel in complex terranes of this kind, the effects from each stage must be investigated separately, linking the observations and data from kilometers down to micrometer scale. This task recommends an integrative approach.
