Watch me work on this mosaic, taking inspiration from the colours of the coast. The simple design focuses on the colours and textures of the materials. Pieces are set into a bed of pigmented tile adhesive/thinset. This mosaic measures 2.5x3.5 inches and was made as part of a challenge to create a nature inspired mosaic every day.

Water is a weird thing. It is soft but hard, fluid but dense, smooth but rough. This reminds me of the ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang where opposite and often contrary forces end up complimenting and depending on one another. It’s for that exact reason that I decided to work on this diptych ‘N Side’ and ‘C Side’. Both feature two shades of blue painted in long, straight lines.
