There are many types of writing in English, but here we will discuss only 4 main types of writing styles: 1: Pursuasive Writing 2: Narrative Writing 3: Expository Writing 4: Descriptive Writing

Make A Writing Jar (Plus 101 Prompts to Fill it!). The idea here is to have a jar full of writing prompts, the ones I’ve included have a big range. I tried to include thought-provoking, serious, funny and creative, so that each time they reach into the jar they’ll be challenged with a different kind of writing and style.

Teaching first grade and second grade students how to write a paragraph isn’t a walk in the park. Today I am sharing four steps that will help you use this writing workshop model to teach your 1st and 2nd-grade students how to write a paragraph. I like to explicitly teach what a paragraph is using writing anchor charts and then identify the different parts of a paragraph. You can break these up into multiple writing lessons and writing mini lessons.
