These features arise from the compression of snow layers over time, resulting in distinct bands and textures within the glacier. The weight and pressure of the ice expel air bubbles, enhancing transparency and brilliance. As the glacier moves, it interacts with the underlying landscape, gradually eroding and shaping the ice, which exposes fresh surfaces and reflects light in various shades of blue.
