D.H. Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72

Post by vacant »

This was an Aldi Christmas impulse buy from two years ago. It was about time I built it - just a plain simple build.

Wow! Great to see you build a normal, modern kit with parts that fit and stuff. Beautiful job.

Nicely done, Vacant and, yes, it makes a change to see you build (a) a modern kit and (b) a type that I'm actually familiar with :ha:

Lovely. Didn't the stencils drive you nuts? They would me.

That is a beauty. I have one of these and some decals for the 'Vintage pair' T11 that was sadly lost in a midair with the Meteor.
Looking at your build Fred has inspired me to dig that one out.

All the best.

Yes, 'flying' over Old Sarum.

Make the most of this out of box standard kit and stand by for my next production. It's as far out of any box as you can imagine! I just need some sunny weather to take photos.

Hey, Fred, now you know what you have been missing!
But maybe not as much fun or as satisfying as your usual output.
Looks gorgeous, anyway!

Very nice!
I noticed the High Planes Plus have a Vampire T.11 conversion set on the market. Is anyone considering it?

I was hoping to produce mine in Stradishall OCU livery.

Great work Vacant.

I have to agree with the rest of the guys, it's nice to see you build something OOB, and that I recognise. But then hey, you wouldn't be you if you didn't build all these vac-form obscurities, and who else could we rely on for that? ;-) …..any takers?

I am currently building another vacform, but it is one that is not obscure and as such, has been produced many times by mainstream kit makers. So apologies in advance for the forthcoming yawning disappointment. It does however, come from a most obscure kit east European manufacturer that as far as I can see, only ever produced two kits.
