Taoyuan city is in northwestern Taiwan, neighboring New Taipei City. It is made up of mostly plains, interconnected mountains and plateaus. Its shape has a long and narrow southeast-to-northwest trend, and occupies 1,220 km². The biggest district is Fuxing.

If you don’t want to spend too much time transferring or looking up the map, just hop on a taxi and it will transport you to wherever you want to go! There are taxi services outside of the airport, HSR station, the train station and MRT stations. The meter runs from NT$95. You not only save time but also may get some tips from the taxi driver. Taxi is also perfect for groups. Reserve one and you can go anywhere you want comfortably!
YouBike – relaxing traveling
Are you tired of rushing around? Why don’t you rent a bicycle on your own pace? With an Easycard, iPass or a credit card, you can rent an YouBike from any station in Taoyuan. There are many biking trails including Xinwu Green Tunnel, Bade Bike Path, Nankan Waterfront Bike Path…etc. that take you through the ponds, old streets, and mountains.
Bus – the smartest budget way
If you want to see Taoyuan spontaneously, taking a bus is the best way! There are about 200 routes that bring you where you don’t find in the guide books. You can purchase one-day pass from Taiwan Tourist Shuttle to visit Daxi, Fuxing, or Longtan for unlimited rides!
Taoyuan Food – a meal reveals a city
Did you know the biggest night market of northern Taiwan is in Taoyuan? If you never have Daxi dried tofu, it’s like that you’ve never been to Taoyuan. Trying the local food is the best way to understand its culture. Welcome to taste all our goodies.
