This Eastern Church, also known as the Byzantine-Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church, has its homeland in what was Ruthenia (the Latin name for Rus) and today is the western Ukraine, southwest of the Carpathian mountains; this Church is in full communion with the bishop of Rome.
