  • Legend of Tubao. Long Time ago, during Spanish time, Tubao is not yet a municipality. It was a jungle part of Agoo and Aringay. Once, two Spanish hunters had came on this region to hunt wild animals. On the night, while they are on thier tent, one asked: "What pace is this?" Suddenly, a voice of a bird break the silence of the night as if it was the answer of the question of the hunter. The bird named Calao shouts extremely "TUAO! TUAO! TUAO!" (Pronounce as Two-Wow The two spanish hunter refer that pace as TUAO. When they go back to civilization, they kept telling the wonderful place they have been on hunt. Until the term TUAO was popularly pronounce as TUBAO.
