Mini Sphere

First off, let me say that I did not design this sphere. The credit goes to Bruce Wan. Check his plans. These spheres are really ingenious. they have studs pointing off in 6 different directions (SNOT=Studs Not On Tops). They do require a large number of those flat L shaped pieces, so my first attempt is quite multi-colored.

Arches

Donald's first attempt at building this style of LEGO arch was at a LEGO exhibit at The Henry Ford Museum. Alas, their stock of bricks was insufficient to truly realize his vision. Luckily, he ran into no such problem in my LEGOroom.

The Michigan Theater Facade

This model won 1st Place and People's Choice in the 2012 Ann Arbor District Library LEGO contest.
I built the iconic sign first and made the rest of it to scale. Half way through construction I realized the model was over 24" wide (which was the maximum for the contest) so I had to squeeze the width by 8 pegs. That caused some problems with the windows, but I think the marquee actually looks better.
