The new way to share digital photos from the people who brought you Picasa
No email, no websites, no waiting!
News: August 1, 2003
We know you love your digital photos – we do too, and we’ve been working on
a way to make sharing your photos with others easier.
Today, we’re excited to take the wraps off our secret project, and give you
a preview of how we think people will share pictures in the future.
We’re making the public beta of Hello available for free, and you can
begin instantly sharing your pictures with friends and family. No longer will
you have to hassle with email attachments that are always too big, or worry
about uploading to websites where your pictures are too public.
While you browse through pictures together, you can easily chat online with
your friends and family about the pictures. If being able to share more than
just words with your friends and family sounds intriguing, we encourage you to
be one of the first to try the free beta version of Hello.

Product Information
Hello is a peer-to-peer program (p2p). This means that your computer
is directly connected with other computers (similar to how popular file
trading programs work). Hello is safe and secure to use at home or at
work, because you set up your buddy list of family and friends and only those
people that you approve can send you pictures. No one can get your pictures
without your permission. And, no one can share pictures with you unless you
specifically give the ok.
How does it work? You simply select photos that you would like to share, and
the person you’d like to share them with. As you press send, the person you’ve
chosen will instantly see the pictures on their computer screen – no email,
no attachments, no waiting! While you’re both looking at the pictures,
Hello also allows you to chat with the other person and your comments appear
right alongside the photo!
