Talking OT-- Dragon Gobies

I got a badass fish for my FW tank today--a dragon goby! They are fierce and mean looking, but gentle giants suitable for community tanks!

I had a pair that was over 10" long in a 55G years ago. Had them for around 5 years. They look mean but are very mellow. Can grow some noticable teeth haha.

Also they are known to carpet surf so watch that.

Another name for them is a violet goby

Last, they like SANDY bottoms & are brackish fish. Although they do ok in freshwater.

Yeah, I read about them before purchasing them, and they adapt to freshwater pretty easily. Especially if you live in a location that has a high salt level in your tap water, and Phoenix has high salt in our tap water. I read about the sand, but have read that they do fine without sand as long as they have good hiding places, and I have good hiding places for him.

Yeah crazy walmart carrys them, see them all the time at that place, all skinny and underfed and they do not know what to feed them. One of my FAV fish! Congrats man! And yeah looks like you have polished rocks on the bottom so you are set, it is when people use rough gravel bottoms, it tears the crud out of their bellies and makes sores on them
