Criminals use phishing nets to steal personal information and identities according to members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP.
Constable Josee Sabourin says a phishing scams is when a fraudster sends an email pretending to be from a business.
Sabourin says the email looks legitimate but it’s not.
She says banks would never ask for information over the internet.
