Description of Knights of Xentar
Knights of Xentar is the second Hentai RPG from MegaTech that features better graphics than Cobra Mission, but unfortunately much inferior gameplay.
In this fantasy story, you play Desmond, a knight who is tasked with defeating "Child of Darkness" to fulfill ancient prophecy. It's just your basic save-the-world plot with new names-nothing special here. Your quest will take you through the vast realms of Xentar, encountering numerous demons and voluptuous women on the way.
Xentar deserves recognition as the first PC game ever made with a voluntary 17+ rating (before ESRB ratings were compulsory). Although the graphics have been improved (including, of course, the obligatory sex scenes that qualify the game as a Hentai title), gameplay unfortunately suffers from extreme linearity and way too many pointless combat sequences. There is a lot less subplots in the game than Cobra Mission, and while there are more options during combat, they don't really make a difference since most monsters are easy to kill anyway.
In contrast to Cobra Mission in which you know exactly when to expect adult scenes (i.e. right after you rescue a maiden), in Xentar these scenes appear almost at random, often with very little relation to the plot. Of course, if looking at pixellated adult scenes is your only reason for playing this game, this is a minor point. But for the rest of us who want to play a game and not watch endless slideshow of gratuitous sex scenes, this is just plain annoying.
When all is said and done, Knights of Xentar is still one of the better Hentai games on the market-but given how most of them are really bad, that's not saying much. On its own, Xentar is a decent, very simple RPGs that fans of console classics may find appealing for an hour or two. Compared to Cobra Mission, though, it is major disappointment, and a game that is neither the best of Hentai, nor RPG.
Stay away from this game unless you are curious about this kind of game, or really like Hentai in general.

How to play Knights of Xentar
CD-ROM version doesn't require the code. Player who wants to play in NR-18 mode needs to apply the patch program. If the player has proper hardware, he can enjoy full talkie game.

if you have audio cutting off, esp. cd version's voices, check the irq setting. you probably installed it with the default 5, but dosbox uses 7. so use install.exe, change irq from 5 to 7 and it'll work. or if you can't (installed the patches which overwrote the install file or something), change your dosbox settings to use irq 5 instead of 7.

I download the ISO, but when I try to mount it - a message says that it is corrupted.

I applied NR-18 and censor remover successfully. The girls are 80% nudity but vagina still get censored. Is this how it supposed to be? Because I saw some uncensored++ version where it's fully uncensored. Dunno if full uncensor version 's Japanese version only or I did it wrong.

Kaliaila is right. The game which LEON mentions is Dragon Knight IV. This game hasn't been translated into English. Dragon Knight III(as known as Knights of Xentar) is the only one.

Played this tons when I was a kid. Leon is confusing this one with the 4th Dragon Knight game; I've not played that one but do have the anime version of it somewhere around here. It's rather fitting I guess; Knights of Xentar (aka Dragon Knight III) is the only one that I have played, and the only one that I never found an anime version of.

This was one of my favourite game when I was teen, like 20+ years ago, I played this game once then a few years later played again and played again a few years later. It was a story about a guy who traveled to defeat a demon but then when the final fight happened he lost and was back to time become another one who traveled with him (and he hated most, take his girls), it's complicated but when you play to the end you will enjoy the story.

-"Desmond, you know I have no sense of humor. how can you POSSIBLY accuse me of joking?"
Hours later...
-"It's a joke, laymo".
I believe this one has some sort of Woolsey's translations, if remembering the ending correctly...
It took 13 31/2 diskettes to install it. The NR-18 patch was 5 more I think!
I believe this is one of those games that -evetually- got me into freelance illustration.

the colors seem all wrong when I play, it seems to be
running in 256 color mode or lower and doesn't match up
with the color for the pics seen here.....but maybe I will keep
playing it and see where this adventure goes.

Although the gameplay does leave something to be desired, this is a very fun game, chock full of cheap laughs, and very fun to play if you compare it to most other h-games. A hell of a lot better than "Mad Paradox" which really sucks.
