I have lots of mama’s ask me for simple craft ideas to help entertain their kids on rainy days, or ways to keep them occupied during doctor’s visits and restaurant waits. This is one of those crafts that is perfect for those times. These DIY Toilet Paper Tube Puppets take just minutes to whip up and can provide hours of imaginative play! Most kids know the classic children’s tale, The Three Little Pigs, and now they can reenact it with their adorable little puppets. Read on to learn how to make these using the free printable below.
To make the Toilet Paper Tube Puppets you will need the following:
Toilet Paper or Paper Towel Tubes
Scissors
Tape
Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf Printable Puppets (personal use only, do not alter)
Directions:
Download the printable puppets and open in Adobe Reader.
Print onto paper.
Cut out each puppet.
If using a paper towel tube, trim down to size.
Wrap the puppet around the tube and tape into place along the seam.
That’s all there is to it! Think about using construction paper to create homes for each of the pigs, or do what my daughter and I did and head outside to use sticks and other natural materials!
This is such an easy craft for kids of all ages! The best part is you can easily make even more puppets with a bit of construction paper, markers, scissors and glue! What puppets would your kids get the most fun out of?

Hi,
I’m a children’s librarian in Farmington, Utah at the Davis County Library. Your Three Little Pigs toilet paper tube puppets are super cute. I was wondering if I could print them to pass out at the end of my storytime next week. We are doing fairy tales and one of the fairytales we are reading is the three little pigs. The children are not able to do the craft in the library but take it home to do. I will need to print about 40 sets.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me!
Janine, Yes! You’re more than welcome to use this printable for your library project. Thank you!
