I watched this as soon as I saw it on Amazon VOD! As a huge fan of All of Marcel Walz' films ("Rootwood", "Blood Feast", "Blind", "Pretty Boy" among others!), and a fan of the radiant Sarah French, I wasted no time!

The story is more allegorical than linear-plot driven, concerning a highly wealthy and religious family, who host elaborate masquerade-parties, for well-heeled invitees, with the enticement of having one guests' "ultimate wish" fulfilled. The caveat here is that the outcomes are predetermined, and essentially based in revenge and punishment! The tale unfolds over the course of several months, with the ultimate fate of the well-meaning but ultimately corrupted pious family reaping their karmic rewards for their deeds.

The acting is top-notch across the board, with the always fabulous Sarah French playing a sinister turn in contrast to her usual "good-girl" roles! The direction is stylish and full of surreal imagery, and gore-fans will not be disappointed! Definitely a must-watch!

...I am a huge fan of sci-fi/horror, especially when it leans into the region of the incomprehensible and unknown, i.e. "Cosmic Horror"! Noteworthy examples (and personal favorites!) of such include "Event Horizon" in particular, "Lifeforce", "The Thing", "The Black Hole" and of course, "Alien"! That said, I realized halfway through this film that it was in essence, a high-concept update of "Mario Bava's "Planet of the Vampires", which itself was a source of inspiration for "Alien", much like how "Quatermass and the Pit" helped inspire the film "Lifeforce"!

All of That said, this movie takes its obvious influences and takes a full turn at the end into pure Lovecraftian nightmare-fuel, without giving away anything! It's definitely worth checking out theatrically for the visuals alone! Eiza Gonzales is also quite pleasant to look at in general, and puts on a potent performance! It's helpful for the film that she replaced Tessa Thompson in the part, as she just seems unlikeable and fairly insufferable in most things (see "Westworld"!) Definitely worth checking out!

...Stumbled across this on Tubi and Loved it! Gritty, fun homage to the 70"s and 80's Satanic/Cult- panic films of that time period, such as "The Devil's Rain", "The Devil Rides Out", and "Hack-O-Lantern", along with "siege"-films like "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Assault On Precinct 13"!

Reed plays a troubled loner living in isolation in the desert, who gets pulled into a mess of epic consequences when a wounded camper-lady forces her way into his home, following the Slaughter of her friends by the zealot demon-worshipping cult, now hot on her heels and determined to "include" her in their ritual,.. For Worse!

Led by the vivacious and hopelessly mad Claire, the cultists aren't the most competent or Intimidating, but make up for it with sheer fixated determination! What follows is a harrowing night of violence and hopelessness, with a surprising (but not ultimately unexpected) revelation and display of mad depravity, and a bleak but ironically humorous finale.

This was a surprisingly impressive feature directorial debut, with great performances and a ton of gory practical effects! Highly recommended!

A hilarious and innovative low-budget comedy/horror! This movie was clearly made with a ton of love and care, and it shows through in every scene. Produced in its entirety by a literal handful of folks, this movie follows the attempted subversion of the entire world by a supernatural force, working through Cronenberg-esque "tv-boxes" in an effort to steal souls and dominate the planet! Integrated into this is a hilarious satire of late 80s public access and late-night television, along with a pair of adorable children being menaced by "The Purple Guy", probably one of the most unique and visually interesting characters I have seen in a while, a mix of Willy Wonka and Pee-Wee Herman... From Hell! Highly recommended for fans of horror-comedy, and featuring the bonus of a cameo by the One and Only Onyx the Fortuitous!! Worth a Watch!!

...Finally watched this and in spite of the harsh reviews here, was very impressed by it! Call it ,"The Hills Have Eyes" by way of Jodorsky and Richard Stanley! Weird and unnerving with a lot left up to interpretation and analysis, this certainly won't be.everyone's cup of tea, but it is definitely worth checking out for fans of weird horror, awesome practical effects and makeup, and genre favorite Augie Duke from :Bad Kids Go to Hell" among many other horror efforts! An admirable first time directing effort from an Oscar-winning special effects coordinator, and a definite must-see, for fans of bizarre and unusual films!

As a fan of all of Marcel Walz' films to date, and a massive fan of Italian "Giallo" film in particular, I was anxiously looking forward to his newest film, "That's a Wrap", and it definitely did not disappoint! Full of sly in-jokes to the Hollywood behind the scenes process, subtle jabs at current culture, and of course a loving homage to Giallo and Dario Argento films in particular, this film is a real treat! Featuring the always fabulous Sarah French, along with a number of modern indie-horror folks and 90's late-nite stars and even a Tom Savini cameo, along with some clever kills and a cool killer-design, this movie should not be Missed!

From the fabulously demented mind and talents of the fine folks behind "Slashorette Party", comes this fun and hilarious callback to 80s slashers and aerobics! Featuring some of the best and hardest,-working indie-horror/comedy actresses and actors in a story that may actually surprise you with a twist or two! Scream Queen fans won't want to miss August Kyss, Jessa Flux, and the simply sublime Kansas Bowling, along with the legendary Ginger Lynn and a bevy of other awesome ladies! And of course the ever-awesome Drew Maverick! If you enjoyed 80s classics like "Deathspa" don't wait, watch this TONIGHT!

As a long time horror fan and active seeker of new and interesting horror films always, I am well-versed in horror from all over the world! I As such, Aussie Horror often tends to be edgier and more mean-spirited (in a good way! ) than most American horror. This movie still manages to be pretty surprising and rather unique! The characters are fleshed out just enough for you to feel badly for them, and the gore and kills were well-executed and nasty! Points for not pulling the rug out of the movie with a "happy" ending, and for using the "Leviathan Cross" sigil, even it was not explained! A great first effort!

Ugh. A cool and freaky science fiction concept (basically "The Earth Dies Screaming" with kids!) But run into the ground by mostly unrelateable and unlikable kids and played out stereotypes and tropes. Only enjoyable for Robert Sheehan's genocidal baddie...

This is a brilliant and bizarre little independence horror movie, written and directed by Frank "Basket-Case" Henhelotter's make-up and special effects guru! On its surface, it's a throwback to the 70s "cannibal terror" films like "Motel Hell", Texas Chainsaw Massacre", and "The Hills Have Eyes"! However, it is worth noting that it's got more to it. Beyond its surrealist/absurdist approach to the above style of films, it sports an interesting underlying sort of philosophical/existential commentary, which I came to interpret as basically, "Sometimes, Terrible Things Randomly Happen, for Absolutely No Good or Deserved Reason, to People Who Probably Don't Deserve It..." And also that "When said things happen, we simply fight through them to earn our right to continue surviving". It's not for everyone, but it is worth checking out if mainstream modern horror isn't really doing it for you!

This movie was hilarious and fun to watch! Chris Seaver deserves a ton of credit for slaving away on over a decade's worth of low-budget independent comedies! I hope he can get back to it some day! Casey Bowker was Awesome also!

Stumbled onto this on Amazon Prime, and was pleasantly surprised! Goofy good fun and just long enough to not ruin itself! Great and memorable performances by the whole cast! Well worth your time!

...Bland and Tasteless. Great setting and voice cast, but too busy checking "blue boxes" and trying to be psuedo-wholesome while talking down to its audience. Watch "Solar Opposites" on Hulu for something that is actually funny and has meaningful commentary behind its humor.

It's a dramatization performed by ACTORS PERFORMING A ROLE. If you can't deal with the basic concept of somebody pretending to be something else which they are not i.e ACTING, don't watch ANYTHING being performed by anybody. Just go people-watch or something, seriously.

This a a total blast of a low-budget, horror comedy homage to the "Evil Dead" movies, with some "Gremlins" references for good measure! Clever use of sparse budgetary availability and practical effects, plus Oscar and Rain are absolute eye-candy cuties! Highly recommended!

Lynn "Goddess" Collins is the main reason for watching!

...But honestly lol. The movie is in offensively mediocre, with pretty awful acting, and a "meh" plot, that kind of tries... Its only True highlight is that the gal playing Skyler is a totally hottie! It's also nice to see modern teens being played as believably clueless and dopey, rather than the unrealistic "worldly and introspective, 4 years of college" teens that shows like "Stranger Things" falsely perpetrate, like the are the norm rather than a rare exception!

" The Haunting of Hill House" was a dull, irritating slog of horrendous cliche characters, emotional angst and ham-fisted family drama, with the supernatural elements largely an afterthought! Basically "This is Us... Oh, and There are Ghosts!" Lol. "Bly" moves far faster, you don't hate anyone, and it's a decent almgamation of James' "Turn of the Screw" and a few of his other stories! Far superior effort!

This is a great "retro"-styled throwback to 70's and early 80's "video-nasties"! Basically, it's " The Hills Have Eyes" on a river in Europe, minus the uncomfortable stuff. Gory, fast-paced and fun!

This was an awesome, twisted horror/ mystery film! Movies like this clearly show why the indie-horror genre deserves our support, and how increasingly lacking in art and substance the mainstream horror/studio films are becoming! Applause to everyone involved!

A unique and involving re-visitation of the "masked killer origin" story, this movie is a dark trip into an innocent mind gradually twisted and transformed into a remorseless murderer. Basically John Waters meets John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper with some Lynch/Burton-esque visual styling, this movie proves that "indie horror" can, indeed be far more that hand-held camera "found-footage" and haunted house/possession stories! Heidi Moore is a definite talent, and I eagerly await to see more of her work!

This is one of those rare occassions where a "revamp" exceeds the original in every possible way. Sure, most of us 20-somethings recall the campy, cheaply hidden moralizations of the original 80's show, a prime example of what some call 80's hypocrisy: Here's a show designed to sell toys, but the censors couldn't deal with the inherent violence of a barbarian hero and a demonic villain, so every show was written around some heavy-handed yet simplistic morality-fable, featuring the bumbling Skeletor and his moron henchmen, or some bland generic foe the kids barely even noticed. Sure, there was a few groovy stories, but not nearly enough, and watching a sword-carrying hero never fight with his sword got pretty old. Thank the Stars for this new show, then! Great animation(No stock footage!), interesting music, and finally, bad guys who are not all fools, and a serious threat! Even the dumb brutes like Clawful and Whiplash compensate for their lack of intellect by just being vicious, overwhelming powerhouses! And Evil-Lyn gets to be a mystical butt-kicker, and a wicked schemer to boot! Tri-Klops gets to be an inventor and reconnisance expert, TrapJaw is a seriously mean thug, but tactically sound, and Beastman and Mer-Man get to be seriously useful! The show also excells by having Prince Adam, He-Man's alter-ego, grow as a character, and learn about the use of his powers, his responsibilities, as he goes along. Best of all: Skeletor is a scary, creepy sonofagun, who doesn't mind cruel punishments and more "permenant" ways of dealing with his foes! The guy resorts to attempted murder often. And he's capable of going toe-to-toe with his foes, unlike the goofball of the old series. Orko's still a goof, but he's actually powerful now, Man-at-Arms is a true leader, warrior and brilliant inventor, rather than the borderline senile twit portrayed originally, and the other heroes all rock too! This show kicks! Watch it!

I saw this on Cinemax last night, and LOVED it! It's the story of a computer game company which hires three maverick programmers to finish and enhance the "Evilution" game. However, Sol(the guy who develops the game's A.I) fills it with virtually every evil he could download, and a power-surge brings the program to life, causing it to construct a cybernetic-zombie body, and seek to kill the programmers, the intern, and the project boss! A very interesting and well-done sci-fi flick, with a clever script, cool effects, and good acting for a made-for-cable film! The characters are flawed but likeable, especially Tyler Mane, as "Hardcore", who is hysterical! The film also has interesting philosophical points to make regarding greed, competition, and what it takes to survive and succeed in the computer industry, and what the definition of a true "monster" is... better than a lot of theatrical attempts at sci-fi I've seen the last year or so. Five out of five stars! :)

This movie, quite simply, ROCKS. Scary, creepy, and well-done. Better than all those crummy "post-modern" self-referential horror films that destroyed the horror genre. So creepy I actually had trouble falling asleep, and I've seen every major modern horror film you can think of! Highly recommended!
