Writer Anne Rockwell’s adult daughter, Lizzy, cunningly accompanies veteran writer Rothstein’s debut picture book with tantalizing illustrations. As a grand nighttime ritual, this counting story displays antics that range from exceedingly rambunctious to a calmer “4 sheep sharing a bedtime book."
Getting ready for bed can drive parents crazy, as demonstrated in this jazzy version of the bedtime countdown. But, the preparation leads to a predictable solution and, one could hope, an ending young children will imitate. The traditional rhyme, Mary Had a Little Lamb, cannot keep up with Rothstein’s delectable romp.

It was decent, good for teaching kids how to count down from 10. Good for teaching them nighttime routines.
