Charles University has secured, as part of a consortium led by the Utrecht University, funding for an ambitious project called „Colonial Legacies of Universities: Materialities and New Collaborations“ (COLUMN). The first phase will be coordinated by Prof. Markéta Křížová from the Centre for Ibero-American Studies of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University.

24 January 2025Charles University is the only applicant from the Czech Republic to receive CZK 60 million for its Charleston project under the EU's flagship programme for doctoral and post-doctoral education. The aim to support young scientists who have already obtained their PhD and have previous international experience, whose research will focus on crucial sustainability issues.

15 January 2025Cardinal Kurt Koch received a diploma confirming the award of the honorary degree of Doctor honoris causa of theological sciences at the Carolinum. The ceremony, overseen by the rector of the Charles University Milena Králíčková, took place in the Great Hall on Wednesday 8 January.

7 January 2025A year has passed since the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University on 21 December. On Saturday, the academic community honoured the memory of the 14 victims with several events. At the same time, people came to light candles, lay flowers and pay tribute to the lives lost in front of the faculty building on Jana Palach Square throughout the day.
