Academic Pursuits With Purpose

Internationally recognized faculty members, top-tier students and abundant opportunities for meaningful research in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs confirm that Clemson University is the "high seminary of learning" its founder hoped for. At Clemson, a diverse group of researchers are driven by a singular purpose: using their unique gifts to create lasting impact.

Driven to Lead

Diverse Teams Build Better Vehicles

Women influence more than 80 percent of all new car purchases, but they account for just over one-quarter of the automotive industry’s workforce. With this in mind, Rivkah Saldanha M ’14, Yang Yang M ’16 and Bhavya Mishra M ’18 championed women’s perspectives as they led Deep Orange, Clemson’s flagship vehicle prototyping program. They share their experiences to encourage other young women in engineering.
