From the Publisher
These Messages from Jesus and Celestials, received through the hand of James E. Padgett, are so extraordinary in concept and contents (claiming as they do to bring to mankind the highest spiritual teachings of Jesus as an epoch-making revelation from the spirit world), that it is indispensable that, as the publisher and firm believer in the Truths contained in these messages, I give to interested readers and for future reference some firsthand information regarding the man through whom these messages were received, and how it was that he was enabled and selected to obtain these amazing communications.
At this point, I must state that I was very often in Mr. Padgett's room when he was receiving these writings, and that I am the eyewitness to the formation and development of Mr. Padgett as the medium par excellence through whom the Truths of the Heavenly Father and life in the spirit world have come to mankind.
Mr. Padgett invited me to visit him regularly at his home at 514 E Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., where, in the course of time, I met Eugene Morgan and Dr. Goerger. Padgett told me that the messages he was receiving were from his wife, Helen, who had died early that year. She had written him many things about the spirit life she was living, describing her experiences at the time of her death, the sphere of her spiritual abode, and her love for her husband in the flesh who, she had then discovered, was her soulmate. I was thereafter very often present as he continued to receive these messages. They came in a rapid sweep of connected words that obviously gave no time for thought on the part of the writer, and, in fact, he often insisted that he had no clear idea of what his pencil was writing until he read the messages afterwards. It was in this way, then, that he received from 1914 to 1923 some twenty-five hundred messages, many of them coming, I have not the slightest doubt, from those highest spirits whose signatures were testimony to the personalities they represented...
...I do not know exactly when the first message signed "Jesus of the Bible" was received, for as I write this, more than forty years later, I cannot remember the date. Padgett evidently felt it was absurd to believe that Jesus had written him and, alas, threw away the message. As a matter of fact, Mr. Colburn, who up to that time had formed a part of our fellowship, declared he could not be persuaded that Jesus had actually written. However, his friends, Dr. Goerger, Mr. Morgan and I had an instinctive feeling that Jesus had written a genuine message. The earliest message allegedly from Jesus to Padgett which is in my possession, therefore, is dated September 28, 1914, and refers to an earlier message written a few days before. It is a long message, urging Padgett to pray for the Father's Love, and stating that certain passages in the New Testament, thoroughly believed in by Padgett, were false. The Master went on to say that he was neither God, nor had he been conceived by the Holy Spirit in the way taught by the preachers of the churches. Further, that "...Neither is God Spirit only, a Spirit of Mind. He is a Spirit of everything that belongs to His Being. He is not only Mind, but Heart, Soul, and Love." The message urged Padgett: "...Go to your Father for His Help. Go in prayer, firmly believing, and you will soon feel His Love in your heart."...
From the Author
Whatever one may believe regarding the source of the Messages from Jesus and the Celestials, the contents are so new and revolutionary, yet so compelling by their logic and sublime simplicity, that a serious study of them must be undertaken in order to comprehend their significance and challenge.
In these messages, Jesus of Nazareth stands forth as the Master of what he calls the "Celestial Heavens," wherein only those spirits possessed of the New Birth through prayer to the Father for His Divine Love can dwell in light and happiness and become conscious of their immortality through their At-onement with Him in soul nature.
If these messages are authentic as coming from Jesus and his Celestial spirits, then mankind has at last been given the true mission which Jesus proclaimed on earth. This mission taught the transformation of man's soul from the image of God-the work of the original creation-into the very Essence of God through the bestowal of the Father's Love upon whomsoever should seek that Love in earnest longing. It revealed that Jesus himself first manifested the Father's Love in his soul, thus making him at-one with the Father in nature and giving him that clear consciousness of his kinship with the Father and his immortality of soul. It showed that, in this development of soul, Jesus was indeed his Father's true son, not in the metaphysical and mysterious way of a hypothetical virgin birth, but through the Holy Spirit-that Agency of the Father which conveys His Love into the souls of His creatures who seek It in earnest prayer. It brings to light that Jesus was born of Mary and Joseph, of human parents like other human beings, but that he was nonetheless the Messiah promised to the Hebrews and to mankind in the Old Testament. For wherever he taught the "glad tidings" that God's Love was available, and that it was this Love which bestowed immortality upon the soul filled with this Love, Jesus brought with him the Nature of God-the Kingdom of God. At the same time, Jesus tells us that neither was he God; nor was his mother, Mary, the mother of God; nor a virgin after her marriage to Joseph, but that she was, in truth, the mother of eight children, of which he was the eldest; and that he had four brothers and three sisters in the flesh, and not cousins, as some versions of the Bible relate.
In addition, he relates that he did not come to die on a cross, nor did, nor does, his shed blood bring remission of sins. He also shatters the time-honored statements now found in the New Testament that he ever instituted a bread and wine sacrament on the eve of his arrest at the "Last Supper." This pious statement, he declared, was never his, nor did any of his apostles or disciples ever teach it, but was inserted about a century later so that such a doctrine might accord with the ideas then prevalent among the Greek converts of Christianity. Communion with the Heavenly Father can never take place through the mistaken notion that Jesus had to be impaled on a cross by Roman soldiers, on the order of Pilate, the Procurator of Judea, and in accord with the uncomprehending high priests, so that he could appear as a sacrifice for sin. There is no sacrifice for sin, affirms Jesus, and his dried-up blood cannot do what only man himself must do by turning in repentance and prayer to the Heavenly Father to effect that change in his heart whereby his soul will give up evil and sin and embrace what is righteous. The Father's Help in the elimination of sin from the human soul is His Divine Love which, on entering the soul through prayer, removes sin and error from that soul and provides not only purification but also its transformation into a divine soul, at-one with the Father's Great Soul in nature. This real communion, which Jesus himself had achieved, he declared, is the only communion between God and His children which God has provided for their salvation and eternal life with Him...

The discussion you had with the doctor concerning my sermon in the synagogue of Nazareth was a very important one, in that I claimed I was the Messiah before the entire congregation. And, of course, such a claim created a sensation, as is described in the New Testament....
... Now, when I recited the passage from Isaiah, I did not recite merely the lines recorded in the New Testament, but I proceeded to read the entire chapter, as was the custom. And the main passage in that chapter was, "My soul exulteth because it is invested with the salvation of the Lord." And, by that, I meant that my soul rejoiced because it had been endowed with immortality, which is the real meaning of salvation, and that this immortality of my soul was the result of its having received a sufficiency of the Divine Love, which was now available through the Loving-Kindness of the Heavenly Father. And this was the meaning of the declaration I made to the listeners in the synagogue, "Today is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears." And it was thus that I proclaimed myself the Messiah, in the possession of a soul conscious of its immortality. And I also proclaimed the Glad Tidings that this immortality, which was mine, could now be obtained by whosoever should seek it through earnest prayer to the Father for His Divine Love.
...And when I read, "The Spirit of Jehovah is upon me, and has anointed me to proclaim the Glad Tidings," I meant that the Father had appointed me to preach the rebestowal of the Divine Love, which had been made a reality in my own soul, and that, having been anointed the Christ through the Love Principle working in my soul, I was to preach the rebestowal of the Father's Love to all mankind, and teach the Way to At-onement with the Father through the Divine Love. Thus, I had come as the Messiah to proclaim immortality for all mankind, through prayer for the Father's Love, and that sin and sickness could now be eliminated through His Great Gift.
Thus, you see that I did proclaim myself to be the Messiah, long expected by the Hebrew people, and that therefore any statement which indicates that Peter divined my identity through heavenly Grace is not true, and was simply inserted to strengthen and to give authority to the church's claim that I had bestowed primacy upon him as my successor.
It is true that I was unable to perform any miracles of note at this time because of the peculiar situation I was in, having lived for twenty years or so in Nazareth. The people who had known me for so long were now suddenly asked to believe I was the Messiah. This was very difficult for them to do, for it was not a question of asking strangers to accept me, or my teachings and healing, but to have people change their minds about me after they had been formed for twenty years. Since I had never healed in my native town before my public ministry, the people were skeptical that I could suddenly perform what I had not done for the past twenty years. It was this strong current of incredulity that prevented me from exercising my healing powers, for the recipient must also have faith in the healing gift.
I will stop now, with my love and blessings, and sign myself,
Your brother and friend,
Jesus

- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019I just want to say God bless to the person who gave this book one star. That being said, I respectfully disagree with the reviewer’s remarks and truly believe there are not enough stars posted to rate this extraordinary book. I wish the reviewer would have read it before giving such a poor review; at least, the person who gave the book to him/her must have thought it was worth sharing. But I do understand the individual’s concerns, since the book contains spiritual messages which contradict mainstream Christian beliefs. It really comes down to whether you are a seeker of spiritual truth and desire a closer relationship with God. Believing in the Bible is not just about having faith in God but having faith in mankind’s ability to receive and record spiritual accounts/information accurately. If you truly believe God is a God of love, then wouldn’t it make sense that God's salvation is gained through receiving His substance of Divine Love into your soul through the Holy Spirit and not by a blood sacrifice of one of His children brought about through betrayal and murder? To me, these loving messages proclaim the truth that God’s salvation is simple - only the pure substance of God’s Love can eradicate sin and error in the soul, thereby making the heart pure and holy just as Jesus the Christ demonstrated in his life. I pray Christianity will one day drop the shackles of its dogmas inherited from paganism and human conjectures and, once again, embrace the pure teachings of Christ. No matter one’s faith, everyone should read these angelic messages. I did and God has given me spiritual evidence that validates them, so I don’t have to wait until I die to know the truth. May our Heavenly Father bless each and everyone who finds this hidden treasure.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2019I've always said that I wasn't looking for God, but apparently God was looking for me. When I first read the writings from Jesus,, I cried. There's an old saying... "You know when you know." Well, I knew right then and there that the writings were authentic and that Jesus wrote the real truth about all things God. For the truth seekers out there, do yourselves a favor and get this book. It doesn't disappoint as the writings are phenomenal. And the message from Jesus about knowing God in the simplest way is soul and life changing.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2020A lot of this book is a compilation of the most beautiful parts of James Pagettes' gift from Jesus,Mary, and the Apostles, on Divine Love, and also why mainstream "Christianity" went awry. If you're wondering where is the second coming? Read this and Rejoice, my brothers and sisters
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2015This and the second volume really were/are amazing reads. They took bible teachings of Jesus and Heaven from 2-D to 3-D....very helpful and informative. For me, it puts life and death in much better perspectives....
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2008I was truly blown away by the content of this volume. I must say that I was and still am an earnest seeker of truth, so in stumbling across this work was not a coincidence. I couldn't put it down. Something rang true on every page. In those nights and days of my first reading it, I could literally feel heaven closer to earth, or maybe I was drawn closer to Heaven. A light was ignited within my soul that could not be put out.
I am very grateful that this work exist, and trust that many would find it and be transformed by its content. Jesus is real, alive and well, and his mission was indeed to make known to all mankind that the potentiality to yearn for and receive the Divine Nature of God was re-bestowed to all mankind.
God is a Just God, and did not ordain a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Such nonsense of sacrificing to enter Heaven is all a creation of mankind. God ordained only Love, His own Divine Nature, to be the means whereby sin can be removed forever, by literally recreating the soul that yearns for this love into God's nature. This is the real Born again process. This is what Jesus taught before he was viciously murdered by greed and misguidance.
This book and the other volumes hold within it the testimonies of Angels and high spiritual beings who were once mortals on earth, and continue to have the best interest of humanity at heart.
There is no fear in Love, for you will discover all your fears melting away as you boldly decide to use you own freewill to get this book and read it prayerfully. We are all Children of a God that truly loves us, and who has given us the easiest solution to the problem of us being in separation from Him. And that solution does involve Jesus, but only as a messenger.
Jesus brought the message from God that human beings can now receive the nature of God, which was withdrawn after our first parents slighted it, and choose the devices of their own minds. Jesus demonstrated this message with his life, not by dying for mankind but by living the LOVE of God that had transformed his soul into a Divine Angel.
This Message of Jesus' true teachings were lost, corrupted and changed so as to suit the misguidance of greed and deceit, but now through these Angelic Revelations, this Message of the Gospel is revealed anew in its correct form for the entire world to see, hear and know. Salvation is an individual thing, and it involves us as individuals yearning sincerely for the Love (Nature of God) to possess and change us into a New Creature.
Heaven's light is shining upon earth, and the change for peace and goodwill that is occurring upon earth will indeed bring about a new earth. The current earth will not be destroyed by fire, but will be transformed one soul at a time into that which is truly Love and lovely. Highly recommended, 10 Stars. Human Operations Manual
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2001This is truly 'the book' for the New Millenium. If you ever wondered what is the nature of God, what 'the soul' really is, if there will be a second coming of Jesus on earth, what were the actual events surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus (the account of the events of Easter are like nothing I'd ever imagined) ,and more, much more...this 'is 'the book for you. I had been a biblical scholar for over thirty years when I was fortunate to stumble across this wonderfully powerful and most believable book. The contents, even if they are read as fiction, will astonish most readers. I feel I have been given a real account of the Gospels by those who were actually there. This book offers no shortage of attempts to correct the many errors and interpolations of the Gospels as well; something most open-minded biblical scholars will embrace. As an ordained Christian minister,I cannot give a higher recommendation...read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Truth
I’m currently reading this and am slightly more than a third of the way through. For anyone searching for the truth along spiritual and religious truth rather than the crap used to indoctrinate people for millenniums, control the poor, women (the list is endless!) I would strongly suggest reading this book. It’s beautiful and insightful.
