I needed a ski rack for my 95 civic coupe. Long story short, very few ski racks will fit this car.
I first tried the Inno MV 276 (magnetic only) rack, but returned it because it won't hold skis wider than about 3.5" at the mounting points - as in, most modern skis. The Eton rack will hold downhill/tele skis that are about 3.75" wide at the mounting points (in front of the front binding and back of the rear). Note: XC skis will not fit(too thick), no provision for poles (not really necessary) and it's obviously not made for snowboards. All my current skis fit this rack, however I'm "old school" (and git off my lawn). Most skis I see these days are too wide/fat to fit this rack - and every year they get wider. So know what you're getting into, and measure your skis if you're thinking about buying!
Other than that, the rack works as designed. Magnets hold it tight, and the suction really clamps it down. Skis are held in the slots by EPDM straps which hook on - they are not anchored so they could be lost (& hopefully they don't break). Then the plastic clamshell snaps over them and a key locks it all down. They give you three keys, nice touch...
Once you take the rack on & off a few times it's pretty easy, although you need to line up the two racks and get the spacing between them right for the skis to fit. Despite the website's implied claims, you can pull the rack off (even suctioned down) if you try, very easily if it's been sitting on the car for awhile. Like most ski racks, it is not very secure, and if someone wants your skis (or the rack itself) they can get them. Eton includes a metal cable with two plastic balls on the end which you are supposed to put through the windows of your car to secure the rack. More trouble than its worth, would look dorky (particularly because the rack itself looks very clean), and would probably result in more damage to your car if someone actually tried to steal your skis.
The pads trap water underneath, so you need to take the rack off periodically to let things dry out as well as to re-set the suction. I would be very concerned about paint damage from scratches on a newer/nicer car. Water on the roof probably makes the suction grip on this rack stronger - however you're hosed if you go to put the rack on in the morning and there's still frost on your roof because the suction won't work (just one more thing to remember on those pre-ski evenings).

All in all a solution for my problem car, but has some limitations - and why not make the slots bigger for wider skis?

Good ski rack for small car. I like it because you can install so fast when you need, and remove after your trip. A little closely for two pairs of ski but working and looks very good.
    Thanks.

I have an Audi TT convertible and this was the only way to get my skiis and anothers on the car and up to the mountain!

Useful in a pinch, but not very comforting. Have to reattach after skiing as they come undone. Rigged it up with additional gutter clips and straps for peace of mind. Used on a Porsche 997 Convertible with a hardtop. Not many options there.

Some difficulty getting newer skiis in the throat as they are thicker, but managed. Would prefer a direct attach rack if available.

The eton ski rack is perfect for my o1 pt cruiser. I have used it about 10 times so far and it works great, is easy to put on, to date has not done any damage to my roof, and when I get home I take it off and put it in the storage box. The cable is kind of a after thought, when I stay at he resorts, I just pull the rack and the skis off and put them in my room. I have a pair of Solomon BBR skis that are about 4" wide right in front of the bindings and the eton rack clamps ok. I don"t think that a ski that was wider then 4" would fit, overall I am very happy with the magnetic-suction ski rack.
