Epigenetics
Epigenetics Overview
Epigenetics is the study of modifications to an organism’s genome that affect the regulation of the genes rather than changes to the actual genetic code. Epigenetic modifications can result in changes to the structure of chromatin which then affects which genes be expressed as proteins within the cell. These modifications are stable and heritable as classical genetic mechanisms. Their regulation is complicated and a topic of interest for many studies, especially those concerned with gene expression, development, and cellular differentiation.
Epigenetics is regulated by DNA methylation, DNA hydroxymethylation, and non-coding RNAs. To study these modifications, Zymo Research has a variety of epigenetic research products designed to simplify workflows and provide reliable results. This suite of epigenetic research products is of the highest quality and most cited technologies. With these epigenetic products, Zymo Research is dedicated to improving studies by enabling scientists with the tools necessary to elucidate genetic regulation, cellular differentiation, embryology, aging, cancer, and any other field.
