Transformers Animated is my #1 favorite show and it has a special place in my heart. I will tell you how I discovered TFA and understand the show.
This is going to be a long story.
Right when Transformers Prime was a thing, I discovered Transformers Animated on my Dad's old HP tablet back in 2012. The first episode I watched was "Where is Thy Sting?". After that, I started to watch more episodes on a random order. Although I recognize Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead since TFP was my introduction to the Transformers franchise, I didn't recognize Prowl. Actually, I didn't even know who he was at all. Although I find the show was cool, but I didn't understand why I liked it. Somewhere in 2014, I stopped watching it because I had homework and I was into My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, but I grew out of it. Sheesh⦠I've completely forgotten and repressed those memories of TFA that I didn't even know what was my favorite show back then.
On mid-July 2021, I was browsing TFA on TV Tropes and started to have bits of long-forgotten & repressed memories of it that were strangely familiar to me. So I rediscovered the show on YouTube and I watched Transform and Roll Out (S1 ep 1-3) and Megatron Rising (S1 ep 15-16) on the 25th. Next I watched A Bridge Too Close (S2 ep 12-13) and TransWarped (S3 ep 1-3) on the 26th. Then I watched Human Error (S3 ep 8-9) on the 27th. Finally, I watched Endgame (S3 ep 12-13) on the 28th.
I finished watching some episodes. But deep down, I still wanted to know why those bits of long-forgotten & repressed memories were familiar to me, still wanted to understand more about TFA, to know why I'm connected with Prowl, and the other characters for some reason. I search for all episodes to make sure there are still here. Guess what? I found out that all of the episodes were still here on YouTube.
While I was watching the episodes in order, I started to feel more familiar with those long-forgotten & repressed memories and remembering them more. And I started to understand more about TFA and feel more connected with Prowl and the other characters. On August 4, when I was watching Five Servos of Doom (ep 35), I realized that Prowl was a self-reflection of my personality and my past & present experience. Do you know what's more strange? Even though I didn't know him back in 2012, I subconsciously learned from him. Like he was my role model.
On August 6, I watched the shorts first and then binge-watched the last 6 episodes of season 3. Prowl's sacrifice genuinely made me feel sad.
I finally know what my favorite show is, remember my long-forgotten & repressed memories, understand Transformers Animated, and know why I'm connected with Prowl and the other characters. This show literally reminded me of my childhood in real life. The characters reminded me of my family and myself. I was feeling the anticipation and awe when I was watching it. Holy cow it's been 9 years since I forgotten and repressed it!
And that's why Transformers Animated is my #1 favorite show of all time.
It feels good to relieve those memories again.
Sadly on December 16th, Derrick J. Wyatt, the lead art director and character design of Transformers Animated passed away...
I'm gonna fucking cry we've come full circle
New E1 Drop
My take on Ben 10's Malware. I do have a preference for his first look before he got all buff and red.
Hunter Reyes, TFA/Transformers Animated (Derrick J. Wyatt) artstyle
Here we have Hunter Reyes again, originally a TFP oc I made while RPing with a friend of mine, this time around I decided to draw them out in the TFA artstyle, just for fun ^-^. ~~Though itβs funny since I havenβt really seen the show myself, but still Iβm a fan of it despite that lol-~~.
Though it was a bit difficult to mimic/catch the style at first, oddly enough, given I had to pick a body type that would fit Hunter, plus stay in the same style while not adding too much detail like the original TFP Hunter pic, but it worked out all things considered.
-Alts include: Original, Vestless, and Gloveless
Hope you guys like it and have a Faztastic day! ^^
Had the weirdest thought about how Talon would look in the TFA style. Given I don't know if I can replicate the style in earnest, I might have to commission an artist one day, though given my financial situation and the fact I just moved, that's going to be a long time coming.
β When someone leaves your life, those exits are not made equal. Some are beautiful and poetic and satisfying. Others are abrupt and unfair. But most are just unremarkable, unintentional, clumsy.β - Griffin McElroy (The Adventure Zone Podcast)
If life has taught me anything lately, itβs that nothing ever truly ends. Sometimes thatβs hard, but sometimes itβs beautiful. Sometimes people exit your life, in any multitude of ways- as small as cutting off communication, a simple as a passing glance with a stranger youβll never see again, or as severe as leaving the world at their own hand.
Often times, you have no choice in where someones story ends in your life- as inexplicable as a random chance accident, as painful as a diagnosis with numbered days, to a sudden passing. Sometimes you drift from people, and itβs hard to broach that wall of communication again, sometimes itβs hard to put yourself out there again. Sometimes you realize youβre in the wrong company, have to make the hard decision to exit someone elseβs story. Sometimes life changes you and you can re-enter their story all over again, even better than before.
At the end of the day, after all these entrances and exits, you leave behind those little things you give to people when you spend time with them. Your mannerisms, your colloquialisms, your special interests. You also leave them with your mistakes (regardless of which ones youβve owned up to), you leave regrets, you leave your hurt and unanswered questions. Each person is their own universe of experiences and perspectives, good and bad, and we are shaped by what we give to each other and what we are given- faults and all.
All three of my pieces are tied together by these themes. One is a collage representing my experience with depression, experiencing touch-starvation for the first time, and the fear of letting hard emotions in. One is of two young characters finding their place in a world theyβre realizing is much bigger than they ever couldβve imagined. One is a portrait honoring a mentor of mine who I never met, and never will due to his untimely passing- yet whose work and advice lives on in and through me and thousands of other artists he inspired while living, and continues to even in death.
Art and life are about what we leave behind and how we represent what we see in the world, and these pieces were a celebration of that sentiment- faults and all. Happy Belated Birthday, Derrick.
sooo I got inspired by dyemooch and Derrick's artwork of Babymetal. And I decided to try out Copia and Terzo in Derrick J Wyatt's style! Sorta paying a little homage to him, since his work is a huge inspo to me. Still can't get over how he's come across my work and has even allowed me to color his sketches ;__; π€
For those who don't know, Derrick J Wyatt was art director/involved for shows like Ben 10 Omniverse, Transformers Animated, Teen Titans, and Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated to name a few.

And happy birthday to me as well :)
Derrick J Wyatt was a G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time). I adore his style and projects. So, I combined my favourite style with one of my favourite pieces of media - The Walten Files.
