LifeHQ by Mike Schmitz is what every Obsidian user needs.

It is one thing to theorize about organizing and utilizing your vault but another thing to see in practice.

LifeHQ is just such a tool - it will help you understand Obsidian's potential.

Mike's approach is realistic, practical & repeatable. I am happy to have such a resource to recommend to those looking to leverage #Obsidian to its fullest. #TfT #PKM #Obsidian

Always weird to me when someone starts a work email with "Dear". I guess they are trying to be respectul. Maybe? But it's not like you have your calligraphy pen out and are writing on parchment paper.

So after @pluralistic put the RSS bug in my brain, I had a thought.

What if, say, @Tusky , which is an awesome Masto app, integrated an RSS feed reader into it.

    Hear me out…

You could have the option of following accounts as RSS feeds, so that if you follow news accounts or anything you don't want to miss a post from, there would be a feed reader pane.

Sort of like rolling your own algorithm, but better.

Hey just spitballing here. Maybe something like that already exists, seems like a good and simple idea.

Many great points in this @pluralistic thread on achieving meaningful change through joining a movement, but I wanted to highlight this note on "infrequently updated sites":

"I follow a bunch of people via RSS who only update a couple times per year."

Not having "a lot" to say shouldn't stop you from sharing your thoughts and experiences in a blog. And you didn't "fail" if you only have one or two posts.

I'm so used to Markdown in #Obsidian that I really hate when I have to use #OneNote. Yeah, it's pretty but try doing bulleted lists. It picks up formatting from other lines and you spend more time messing around with Format Painter trying to fix things.

How to Bulk Delete Completed Tasks from Microsoft ToDo

     by

In the Microsoft ToDo app you might have reasons to delete all of your completed tasks. For example, maybe you track your completes in another app like I do and want to just keep the app running smoothly. Whatever the reason, it's easy to delete things one task at a time but it isn't as straight forward if you want to delete your tasks in bulk. To get you started, here a little how to.

In the ToDo Desktop app do the following:

    • Ensure the "Completed" smart list is showing
      • Click user icon in upper left
      • Click Settings
      • Scroll to Smart Lists and ensure the slider for Completed is set to On
        Screenshot of Microsoft Todo Settings
    • Exit the settings menu and go the the Completed List
      • You should have different sections within the Completed list that correspond to you other lists (for example, Flagged Email)
        Screenshot of Microsoft Todo
      • Expand the list by clicking on the ">" icon next to the list name
        Screenshot of Microsoft Todo
        • Note if you have many many completed items in this list you may need to wait a minute before proceeding
      • Once the list is expanded, right click on the list title and select Delete Tasks (if the dialog box to click Delete Tasks doesn't show up, WAIT it can take minutes if you have a lot of tasks). You'll be asked to confirm you want to delete.
        • Depending on the number of tasks you have to delete it can take awhile. There is a kind of scrolling dot indicator at the top of the To Do window to indicate there is something happening.
      • Repeat the process for each lists you would like to clean up

if you deleted many items it might take a long time for everything to sync. Be patient! Clicking on your user icon in the upper left will show you if the app is still syncing.

    MLB Post Season Schedule icalendar

     by

I'm using this calendar to track of when the Major League Baseball Post Season games are scheduled and on what channel. I've made the ics public so you can subscribe in your phone or wherever you like. The calendar should be showing up in your local time.

Some times are still to be determined by MLB and will be added as I find out. The numbers in parenthesis are the original post season seeding of the teams.

You can subscribe to this calendar using this link:

    Today's NL Wildcard double-header #Mets #Braves #Diamondbacks craziness goes like this:

  • Game 1 1:10PM EDT
  • Winner of Game 1 clinches a playoff spot
  • A split would put the Braves in as the 5 seed and the Mets in as the 6 seed
  • A sweep would put the sweeping team in at 5 and the D-backs in at 6
