What is the purpose of Rats of Rath?
How do you deal with people blowing up Torpor orb in response to your commander being cast? Perhaps an Imp's Mischief could serve you well?

I'm finding the land count just a bit low. Too many mulligans and games where I stall, so I'm looking to make cuts to fit in two to three Swamps.
Also, I made a couple of changes:
- IN:
Black Market
- The first game after I added it was a five player game. By the time it was my turn again, Black Market had 16 counters on it.
-
OUT: Codex Shredder
- Something had to go. Codex Shredder is fun and gives the deck additional recovery power, but I should be able to recover a few times without recursion.
-
- Grave Pact effects are so good in this deck, even a 7-mana creature version is worth it.
- OUT:
Rats of Rath
- They're a sac outlet for Grave Pact, but they are probably the weakest Rat played in the deck. Worry not, they will return to the deck - keeping playable Rats is a priority, but Rats of Rath was the safest cut at the moment.
