Chapel Stairway



Adding color to a value sketch or grisaille. Two sets of color transitions occur from distant to foreground. Areas of light proceed from yellows to reds, and areas of shadow proceed from lavenders to blues.

From one of our trips back home.This spot is just a little ways from the Lighthouse, and where many of the surfers get in to surf "Steamer Lane".

A great spot in Santa Cruz, Ca. I did a few paintings of this lighthouse while we were there. This one is 9"x12" Oil on stretched canvas.

Leaves and Lilies
