Abstract: In this paper, energy efficiency was examined within the context of the Turkish industry. With the help of the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index Decomposition Method, the total energy intensity of the industrial sector was divided into the real energy intensity effect and the structural change of the sector for the period from 2003 to 2011. Afterwards, the total contribution to the real energy intensity of each sub-sector was calculated by the attribution analysis by extending the decomposition. Thus, it can be possible to learn detailed information on the contribution of each subsector to change in energy intensity.
