Black hole bulk-cone singularities / Dodelson, Matthew (CERN) ; Iossa, Cristoforo (Geneva U. ; SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Karlsson, Robin (CERN) ; Lupsasca, Alexandru (Vanderbilt U.) ; Zhiboedov, Alexander (CERN)
Lorentzian correlators of local operators exhibit surprising singularities in theories with gravity duals. These are associated with null geodesics in an emergent bulk geometry. [...]

The Yang-Mills duals of small AdS black holes / Choi, Sunjin (Seoul Natl. U., Dept. Phys. Astron. ; Seoul Natl. U. ; Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul) ; Jeong, Saebyeok (Rutgers U., Piscataway ; CERN) ; Kim, Seok (Seoul Natl. U., Dept. Phys. Astron. ; Seoul Natl. U.)
We study the large $N$ matrix model for the index of 4d $\mathcal{N}=4$ Yang-Mills theory and its truncations to understand the dual AdS$_5$ black holes. Numerical studies of the truncated models provide insights on the black hole physics, some of which we investigate analytically with the full Yang-Mills matrix model. [...]

A thermal product formula / Dodelson, Matthew (CERN) ; Iossa, Cristoforo (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Karlsson, Robin (CERN) ; Zhiboedov, Alexander (CERN)
We show that holographic thermal two-sided two-point correlators take the form of a product over quasi-normal modes (QNMs). Due to this fact, the two-point function admits a natural dispersive representation with a positive discontinuity at the location of QNMs. [...]

We study the inner horizons of rotating and charged black holes in anti-de Sitter space. These black holes have a classical analytic extension through the inner horizon to additional asymptotic regions. [...]

Ringdown in the SYK model / Dodelson, Matthew (CERN)

D3-brane solitons and black holes / Rodgers, Ronald (speaker) (University of Southampton)
Four dimensional N=4 SYM with gauge group SU(N) admits spherically symmetric, dyonically charged solitons holographically dual to certain probe D3-brane configurations in AdS5 x S5. A peculiar feature of these solitons, that their masses and charges scale linearly with radius, have lead to the suggestion that they may in some sense provide a QFT analogue of extremal black holes. Holography and Localization of Information in Quantum Gravity / Bahiru, Eyoab (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste ; ICTP, Trieste) ; Belin, Alexandre (Milan Bicocca U. ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Papadodimas, Kyriakos (CERN) ; Sarosi, Gabor (CERN) ; Vardian, Niloofar (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste)
Within the AdS/CFT correspondence, we identify a class of CFT operators which represent diff-invariant and approximately local observables in the gravitational dual. Provided that the bulk state breaks all asymptotic symmetries, we show that these operators commute to all orders in $1/N$ with asymptotic charges, thus resolving an apparent tension between locality in perturbative quantum gravity and the gravitational Gauss law. Sphere Packing and Quantum Gravity / Hartman, Thomas (Cornell U., Phys. Dept.) ; Mazáč, Dalimil (YITP, Stony Brook ; Stony Brook U., New York, SCGP) ; Rastelli, Leonardo (YITP, Stony Brook ; CERN)
We establish a precise relation between the modular bootstrap, used to constrain the spectrum of 2D CFTs, and the sphere packing problem in Euclidean geometry. The modular bootstrap bound for chiral algebra $U(1)^c$ maps exactly to the Cohn-Elkies linear programming bound on the sphere packing density in $d=2c$ dimensions. [...]

We investigate the possibility that the geometry dual to a typical AdS black hole microstate corresponds to the extended AdS-Schwarzschild geometry, including a region spacelike to the exterior. We argue that this region can be described by the mirror operators, a set of state-dependent operators in the dual CFT. [...]
