Rivet and the analysis preservation in heavy-ion collisions experiments / da Silva, Antonio Carlos Oliveira (Tennessee U.) /ALICE Collaboration
The comparison of experimental data and theoretical predictions is important for our understanding of the mechanisms for interactions and particle production in hadron collisions, both at the Large Hadron Collider and at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider experiments. Several tools were ideated to help with that. [...]

Heavy-Ion Physics with CMS / Iordanova, Aneta (Illinois U., Chicago) /for the CMS Collaboration
This article presents a brief overview of the CMS experiment capabilities to study the hot and dense matter created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The CERN Large Hadron Collider will provide collisions of Pb nuclei at 5.5 TeV per nucleon. [...]

Robust Independent Validation of Experiment and Theory: Rivet version 3 / Bierlich, Christian (DARK Cosmology Ctr. ; Lund U.) ; Buckley, Andy (Glasgow U.) ; Butterworth, Jonathan (University Coll. London) ; Christensen, Christian Holm (Bohr Inst.) ; Corpe, Louie (Imperial Coll., London) ; Grellscheid, David (Bergen U.) ; Grosse-Oetringhaus, Jan Fiete (CERN) ; Gutschow, Christian (University Coll. London) ; Karczmarczyk, Przemyslaw (CERN ; Warsaw U.) ; Klein, Jochen (CERN ; INFN, Turin) et al.
First released in 2010, the Rivet library forms an important repository for analysis code, facilitating comparisons between measurements of the final state in particle collisions and theoretical calculations of those final states. We give an overview of Rivet's current design and implementation, its uptake for analysis preservation and physics results, and summarise recent developments including propagation of MC systematic-uncertainty weights, heavy-ion and $ep$ physics, and systems for detector emulation. Charm production and hadronisation in ALICE / Volkel, Benedikt (CERN) /ALICE Collaboration
Heavy-flavour production is an active and highly interesting field of research. Since charm and beauty quarks are predominantly produced in the hard scattering process of colliding nuclei, they serve as unique probes to study the quark-gluon plasma in Pb-Pb collisions. [...]

Latest results of the ALICE Collaboration and plans for ALICE 3 / Marin, A. (Darmstadt, GSI) /ALICE Collaboration
The ALICE experiment is devoted to the study of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in heavy-ion collisions at the CERN LHC. The experimental setup allows for the study of many different observables that contributed to the characterization of the properties of the QGP. [...]
