Impact of low-dose electron irradiation on n+p silicon strip sensors / Tracker Group of the CMS Collaboration
The response of n+p silicon strip sensors to electrons from a Sr-90 source was measured using a multi-channel read-out system with 25 ns sampling time. The measurements were performed over a period of several weeks, during which the operating conditions were varied. [...]

Dark Matter Benchmark Models for Early LHC Run-2 Searches: Report of the ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum / Abercrombie, Daniel (MIT) ; Akchurin, Nural (Texas Tech.) ; Akilli, Ece (Geneva U.) ; Alcaraz Maestre, Juan (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Allen, Brandon (MIT) ; Alvarez Gonzalez, Barbara (CERN) ; Andrea, Jeremy (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Arbey, Alexandre (CERN ; Lyon Observ.) ; Azuelos, Georges (TRIUMF) ; Azzi, Patrizia (INFN, Padua) et al.
This document is the final report of the ATLAS-CMS Dark Matter Forum, a forum organized by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations with the participation of experts on theories of Dark Matter, to select a minimal basis set of dark matter simplified models that should support the design of the early LHC Run-2 searches. A prioritized, compact set of benchmark models is proposed, accompanied by studies of the parameter space of these models and a repository of generator implementations. [...]

Measurement of the fractional radiation length of a pixel module for the CMS Phase-2 upgrade via the multiple scattering of positrons / Tracker Group of the CMS Collaboration
High-luminosity particle collider experiments such as the ones planned at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider require ever-greater vertexing precision of the tracking detectors, necessitating also reductions in the material budget of the detectors. Traditionally, the fractional radiation length ($x/X_0$) of detectors is either estimated using known properties of the constituent materials, or measured in dedicated runs of the final detector. Motivated by the success of the flavour physics programme carried out over the last decade at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we characterize in detail the physics potential of its High-Luminosity and High-Energy upgrades in this domain of physics. We document the extraordinary breadth of the HL/HE-LHC programme enabled by a putative Upgrade II of the dedicated flavour physics experiment LHCb and the evolution of the established flavour physics role of the ATLAS and CMS general purpose experiments. Performance of the CMS high-level trigger during LHC Run 2 / CMS Collaboration
The CERN LHC provided proton and heavy ion collisions during its Run 2 operation period from 2015 to 2018. Proton-proton collisions reached a peak instantaneous luminosity of 2.1 $ \times $ 10$^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1} $, twice the initial design value, at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV. [...]

Combination of measurements of the top quark mass from data collected by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at $\sqrt{s}=7$ and 8 TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
A combination of fifteen top quark mass measurements performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC is presented. The data sets used correspond to an integrated luminosity of up to 5 and 20$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. [...]

Search for dijet resonances using events with three jets in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for a narrow resonance with a mass between 350 and 700 GeV, and decaying into a pair of jets, is performed using proton-proton collision events containing at least three jets. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 18.3 fb$^{-1}$ recorded at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV with the CMS detector. [...]

Measurement of the azimuthal anisotropy of $\Upsilon$(1S) and $\Upsilon$(2S) mesons in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} =$ 5.02 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The second-order Fourier coefficients (${v_{2}} $) characterizing the azimuthal distribution of $\Upsilon(\text{1S})$ and $\Upsilon(\text{2S})$ mesons arising from PbPb collisions at ${\sqrt {\smash [b]{s_{_{\mathrm {NN}}}}}} =$ 5.02 TeV are studied. The $\Upsilon$ mesons are reconstructed in their dimuon decay channel, as measured by the CMS detector. [...]

Search for high-mass exclusive $ \gamma\gamma \to \mathrm{W}\mathrm{W} $ and $ \gamma\gamma \to \mathrm{Z}\mathrm{Z} $ production in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search is performed for exclusive high-mass $ \gamma\gamma \to \mathrm{W}\mathrm{W} $ and $ \gamma\gamma \to \mathrm{Z}\mathrm{Z} $ production in proton-proton collisions using intact forward protons reconstructed in near-beam detectors, with both weak bosons decaying into boosted and merged jets. The analysis is based on a sample of proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS and TOTEM experiments at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 100 fb$ ^{-1} $. [...]
