Flat directions in three-generation free-fermionic string models / Cleaver, Gerald (Pennsylvania U.) ; Cvetic, Mirjam (Pennsylvania U.) ; Espinosa, Jose R. (CERN ; Pennsylvania U.) ; Everett, Lisa L. (Pennsylvania U.) ; Langacker, Paul (Pennsylvania U.)
In quasi-realistic string models that contain an anomalous U(1) the non-zero Fayet-Iliopoulos term triggers the shifting of the original vacuum to a new one along some flat direction, so that SUSY is preserved but the gauge group is partially broken. The phenomenological study of these models thus requires as a first step the mapping of the space of flat directions. [...]

The Soft Supersymmetry-Breaking Lagrangian: Theory and Applications / Chung, D.J.H. (CERN ; Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Everett, L.L. (Florida U. ; CERN) ; Kane, G.L. (Michigan U., MCTP) ; King, S.F. (Southampton U.) ; Lykken, Joseph D. (Fermilab) ; Wang, Lian-Tao (Wisconsin U., Madison)
After an introduction recalling the theoretical motivation for low energy (100 GeV to TeV scale) supersymmetry, this review describes the theory and experimental implications of the soft supersymmetry-breaking Lagrangian of the general minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). Extensions to include neutrino masses and nonminimal theories are also discussed. [...]

CP Violation in Supersymmetric U(1)' Models / Demir, Durmus A. (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.) ; Everett, L.L. (CERN)
The supersymmetric CP problem is studied within superstring-motivated extensions of the MSSM with an additional U(1)' gauge symmetry broken at the TeV scale. This class of models offers an attractive solution to the mu problem of the MSSM, in which U(1)' gauge invariance forbids the bare mu term, but an effective mu parameter is generated by the vacuum expectation value of a Standard Model singlet S which has superpotential coupling of the form SH_uH_d to the electroweak Higgs doublets.
