Tech., Madras) ; Guruvidyathri, K (Hyderabad U.) ; Schell, Juliana (CERN ; Duisburg-Essen U.) ; Rogal, Lukasz (Jagiellonian U.) ; Zhang, Xi (U. Stuttgart (main)) ; Mayer, Joachim (RWTH Aachen U. ; ZAT, Julich) ; Grabowski, Blazej (U. Stuttgart (main)) et al.
Tracer diffusion of 44Ti, 46Sc and 89Zr in the hexagonal close-packed (HCP) HfScTiZr multicomponent alloy is investigated using the radiotracer technique. The microstructure stability is thoroughly examined by conducting prolonged heat treatments between 873 K and 1373 K to mimic the diffusion conditions. [...]

As$^{\textrm{III}}$ Selectively Induces a Disorder-to-Order Transition in the Metalloid Binding Region of the AfArsR Protein

Arsenic is highly toxic and a significant threat to human health, but certain bacteria have developed defense mechanisms initiated by AsIII binding to AsIII-sensing proteins of the ArsR family. The transcriptional regulator AfArsR responds to AsIII and SbIII by coordinating the metalloids with three cysteines, located in a short sequence of the same monomer chain. [...]

Emission $^{57}$Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy (eMS), following the implantation of radioactive $^{57}$Mn+ ions, has been used to study the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field at Fe sites in Ba-doped BiFeO$_3$ (BFO) thin films. $^{57}$Mn β decays (t$_{1/2}$ = 90 s) to the 14.4 keV Mössbauer state of $^{57}$Fe, thus allowing online eMS measurements at a selection of sample temperatures during Mn implantation.
