Looking for MACHOs in the Spectra of Fast Radio Bursts
/ Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Kopp, Joachim (CERN ; U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Sibiryakov, Sergey (CERN ; EPFL, Lausanne, LPPC ; Moscow, INR) ; Xue, Wei (CERN ; Florida U.)
We explore a novel search strategy for dark matter in the form of massive compact halo objects (MACHOs) such as primordial black holes or dense mini-halos in the mass range from $10^{-4}$ to 0.1 solar masses. These objects can gravitationally lens the signal of fast radio bursts (FRBs), producing a characteristic interference pattern in the frequency spectrum, similar to the previously studied femtolensing signal in gamma ray burst spectra. On Lepton Flavor Universality in Top Quark Decays
/ Kamenik, Jernej F. (Stefan Inst., Ljubljana ; Ljubljana U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Stolarski, Daniel (Ottawa Carleton Inst. Phys.)
We propose a novel strategy to test lepton flavor universality (LFU) in top decays, applicable to top pair production at colliders. Our proposal exploits information in kinematic distributions and mostly hinges on data-driven techniques, thus having very little dependence on our theoretical understanding of top pair production. Femtolensing by Dark Matter Revisited
/ Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Kopp, Joachim (CERN ; Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Sibiryakov, Sergey (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne ; Moscow, INR) ; Xue, Wei (CERN)
Femtolensing of gamma ray bursts (GRBs) has been put forward as an exciting possibility to probe exotic astrophysical objects with masses below $10^{-13}$ solar masses such as small primordial black holes or ultra-compact dark matter minihalos, made up for instance of QCD axions. In this paper we critically review this idea, properly taking into account the extended nature of the source as well as wave optics effects. [...]

Anomalous $Z'$ and Diboson Resonances at the LHC
/ Ismail, Ahmed (Pittsburgh U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys. ; Geneva U., CAP)
We propose novel collider searches which can significantly improve the LHC reach to new gauge bosons $Z'$ with mixed anomalies with the electroweak (EW) gauge group. Such a $Z'$ necessarily acquires a Chern-Simons coupling to the EW gauge bosons and these couplings can drive both exotic $Z$ decays into $Z'\gamma$ if the new gauge boson is sufficiently light, as well as $Z'$ decays into EW gauge bosons. While the exotic decay rate of the heavy $Z$ into $Z'\gamma$ is too small to be observed at the LHC, for a light $Z'$, we show the potential of a lepton jet search in association with a photon to probe the rare decay $Z \to Z' \gamma$..

On dark matter interactions with the Standard Model through an anomalous $Z′$
/ Ismail, Ahmed (Pittsburgh U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Racco, Davide (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U.)
We study electroweak scale Dark Matter (DM) whose interactions with baryonic matter are mediated by a heavy anomalous $Z'$. We emphasize that when the DM is a Majorana particle, its low-velocity annihilations are dominated by loop suppressed annihilations into the gauge bosons, rather than by p-wave or chirally suppressed annihilations into the SM fermions. SUSY Meets Her Twin
/ Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Mariotti, Alberto (Brussels U., IIHE) ; Pokorski, Stefan (Warsaw U.) ; Redigolo, Diego (Tel Aviv U. ; Weizmann Inst.) ; Ziegler, Robert (Karlsruhe U., TTP)
We investigate the general structure of mirror symmetry breaking in the Twin Higgs scenario. We show, using the IR effective theory, that a significant gain in fine tuning can be achieved if the symmetry is broken hardly. [...]

Complementarity of DM Searches in a Consistent Simplified Model: the Case of Z'
/ Jacques, Thomas (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.) ; Morgante, Enrico (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.) ; Racco, Davide (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.) ; Rameez, Mohamed (Geneva U.) ; Riotto, Antonio (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.)
We analyze the constraints from direct and indirect detection on fermionic Majorana Dark Matter (DM). Because the interaction with the Standard Model (SM) particles is spin-dependent, a priori the constraints that one gets from neutrino telescopes, the LHC and direct detection experiments are comparable.
