(Liverpool U.) ; Stavrakis, G. (Liverpool U.) ; Touramanis, C. (Liverpool U.) et al.
ARIADNE is a 1-ton (330 kg fiducial mass) dual-phase liquid argon (LAr) time projection chamber (TPC) featuring a novel optical readout. Four electron-multiplying charge-coupled device (EMCCD) cameras are mounted externally, and these capture the secondary scintillation light produced in the holes of a thick electron gas multiplier (THGEM). Mapping the material in the LHCb vertex locator using secondary hadronic interactions / Alexander, M. (Glasgow U.) ; Barter, W. (Manchester U.) ; Bay, A. (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Bel, L.J. (CERN) et al.
Precise knowledge of the location of the material in the LHCb vertex locator (VELO) is essential to reducing background in searches for long-lived exotic particles, and in identifying jets that originate from beauty and charm quarks. Secondary interactions of hadrons produced in beam-gas collisions are used to map the location of material in the VELO. [...]

This letter of intent describes a novel and innovative two-phase LAr TPC with photographic capabilities as an attractive alternative readout method to the currently accepted segmented THGEMs which will require many thousands of charge readout channels for kton-scale two-phase TPCs. [...]

Observation of charmonium pairs produced exclusively in $pp$ collisions / LHCb collaboration
A search is performed for the central exclusive production of pairs of charmonia produced in proton-proton collisions. Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3{\rm\ fb}^{-1}$ collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, $J/\psi J/\psi$ and $J/\psi\psi(2S)$ pairs are observed, which have been produced in the absence of any other activity inside the LHCb acceptance that is sensitive to charged particles in the pseudorapidity ranges $(-3.5,-1.5)$ and $(1.5,5.0)$. Effective lifetime measurements in the $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}$, $B^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{+}K^{-}$ decays / LHCb collaboration
Measurements of the effective lifetimes in the $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}$, $B^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{+}K^{-}$ decays are presented using $1.0~\mathrm{fb^{-1}}$ of $pp$ collision data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV by the LHCb experiment. The analysis uses a data-driven approach to correct for the decay time acceptance. [...]

Observation of $Z$ production in proton-lead collisions at LHCb / LHCb collaboration
The first observation of $Z$ boson production in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per proton-nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5~\text{TeV}$ is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $1.6~\text{nb}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. [...]

Search for $CP$ violation in $D^{\pm}\rightarrow K^0_S K^{\pm}$ and $D^{\pm}_{s}\rightarrow K^0_S \pi^{\pm}$ decays / LHCb collaboration
A search for $CP$ violation in Cabibbo-suppressed $D^{\pm}\rightarrow K^0_S K^{\pm}$ and $D^{\pm}_{s}\rightarrow K^0_S \pi^{\pm}$ decays is performed using $pp$ collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3~fb$^{-1}$, recorded by the LHCb experiment. The individual $CP$-violating asymmetries are measured to be \begin{eqnarray*} \mathcal{A}_{CP}^{D^{\pm}\rightarrow K^0_S K^{\pm}} & = & (+0.03 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.14) \% \\ \mathcal{A}_{CP}^{D^{\pm}_s\rightarrow K^0_S \pi^{\pm}} & = & (+0.38 \pm 0.46 \pm 0.17) \%, \end{eqnarray*} assuming that $CP$ violation in the Cabibbo-favoured decays is negligible. Study of the kinematic dependences of $\Lambda_b^0$ production in $pp$ collisions and a measurement of the $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$ branching fraction / LHCb collaboration
The kinematic dependences of the relative production rates, $f_{\Lambda_b^0}/f_d$, of $\Lambda_b^0$ baryons and $\bar{B}^0$ mesons are measured using $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$ and $\bar{B}^0 \rightarrow D^+ \pi^-$ decays. The measurements use proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb$^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, recorded in the forward region with the LHCb experiment.
