This paper presents a comprehensive review of both the theory and experimental successes of Quantum Chromodynamics, starting with its emergence as a well defined theory in 1972-73 and following developments and results up to the present day. Topics include a review of the earliest theoretical and experimental foundations; the fundamental constants of QCD; an introductory discussion of lattice QCD, the only known method for obtaining exact predictions from QCD; methods for approximating QCD, with special focus on effective field theories; QCD under extreme conditions; measurements and predictions of meson and baryon states; a special discussion of the structure of the nucleon; techniques for study of QCD at high energy, including treatment of jets and showers; measurements at colliders; weak decays and quark mixing; and a section on the future, which discusses new experimental facilities or upgrades currently funded. Coupled channel analysis of ${\bar{p}p}\,\rightarrow \,\pi ^0\pi ^0\eta $, ${\pi ^0\eta \eta }$ and ${K^+K^-\pi ^0}$ at 900 MeV/c and of ${\pi \pi }$-scattering data / Crystal Barrel Collaboration
A partial wave analysis of antiproton-proton annihilation data in flight at 900 $MeV/c$ into $\pi^0 \pi^0 \eta$ , $\pi^0 \eta \eta$ and $K^+ K^- \pi^0$ is presented. The data were taken at LEAR by the Crystal Barrel experiment in 1996. [...]

Production and decay of $\eta^\prime$(958) and $\eta$(1440) in $\bar{p} p$ annihilation at rest / Amsler, Claude (U. Zurich (main)) ; Anisovich, A V (U. We report on a study of four reactions in $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p}$ annihilation at rest, of $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p} \rightarrow 2\pi^ + 2\pi^-\eta$, $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p} \rightarrow 2\pi^ + 2\pi^- 2\pi^0$, $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p} \rightarrow 2\pi^ + 2\pi^-\gamma$ and $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p}\rightarrow 4\pi^0\eta$. The $\eta^\prime$ and the $\eta$(1440) are seen in their decays into $\pi^ + \pi^-\eta$, $\pi^0\pi^0\eta$ and $\pi^ + \pi^-\gamma$ ; no signal is seen in the $4\pi$ invariant mass distribution. [...]

Spin Density Matrix of the $\omega$ in the Reaction $\bar{p} p \, \rightarrow \, \omega \pi^0$ / Amsler, C. (Zurich U.) ; Heinsius, F.H. (Ruhr U., Bochum) ; Koch, H. (Ruhr U., Bochum) ; Kopf, B. (Ruhr U., Bochum) /Crystal Barrel Collaboration
The spin density matrix of the $\omega$ has been determined for the reaction $\bar{p} p \, \rightarrow \, \omega \pi^0$ with unpolarized in-flight data measured by the Crystal Barrel LEAR experiment at CERN. The two main decay modes of the $\omega$ into $\pi^0 \gamma $ and $\pi^+ \pi^- \pi^0$ have been separately analyzed for various $\bar{p}$ momenta between 600 and 1940 MeV/c. [...]

Experimental determination of the complete spin structure for anti-proton + proton -> anti-\Lambda + \Lambda at anti-proton beam momentum of 1.637 GeV/c / PS185 Collaboration
The reaction anti-proton + proton -> anti-\Lambda + \Lambda -> anti-proton + \pi^+ + proton + \pi^- has been measured with high statistics at anti-proton beam momentum of 1.637 GeV/c. The use of a transversely-polarized frozen-spin target combined with the self-analyzing property of \Lambda/anti-\Lambda decay allows access to unprecedented information on the spin structure of the interaction. Annihilation at rest of antiprotons and protons into neutral particles / Crystal Barrel Collaboration
Annihilation of antiprotons and protons at rest into neutral particles has been studied with the Crystal Barrel detector at LEAR. Annihilation frequencies are determined for final states containing π 0 , η , η ′ and ω mesons using a liquid and a room temperature, 12 bar, gaseous hydrogen target. [...]

Coupled channel analysis of proton-antiproton annihilation into π0π0π0, π0ηη and π0π0η / Crystal Barrel Collaboration
We confirm the existence of the two I G ( J PC ) = 0 + (0 ++ ) resonances f 0 (1370) and f 0 (1500) reported by us in earlier analyses. The analysis presented here couples the final states π 0 π 0 π 0 , π 0 π 0 η and π 0 ηη of p p annihilation at rest. [...]

Search for a new light gauge boson in π0, η and η' decays / Crystal Barrel Collaboration
Upper limits for the production of new light gauge bosons in π0, η and η′ decays have been obtained with the Crystal Barrel detector. The kinematically well-constrained reactions p̅p → π0π0 P have been studied, where P ? π 0, η, η′ decays through the emission of a single photon recoiling against a missing state X. [...]
