Intensified Tpx3Cam, a fast data-driven optical camera with nanosecond timing resolution for single photon detection in quantum applications / Nomerotski, Andrei (Brookhaven) ; Chekhlov, Matthew (Brookhaven) ; Dolzhenko, Denis (Brookhaven) ; Glazenborg, Rene (Photonis, Brive) ; Farella, Brianna (Brookhaven) ; Keach, Michael (Brookhaven) ; Mahon, Ryan (Brookhaven) ; Orlov, Dmitry (Photonis, Brive) ; Svihra, Peter (Prague, Tech. U. ; CERN)
We describe a fast data-driven optical camera, Tpx3Cam, with nanosecond scale timing resolution and 80 Mpixel/sec throughput. After the addition of intensifier, the camera is single photon sensitive with quantum efficiency determined primarily by the intensifier photocathode. [...]

Novel imaging technique for thermal neutrons using a fast optical camera / Gao, Tianqi (Manchester U.) ; D'Amen, Gabriele (Brookhaven) ; Burdin, Sergey (Liverpool U.) ; Alsulimane, Mohammad (Liverpool U.) ; Campbell, Paul (Manchester U.) ; Da Via, Cinzia (Manchester U. ; YITP, Stony Brook) ; Nomerotski, Andrei (Brookhaven) ; Roberts, Adam (Liverpool U.) ; Svihra, Peter (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; Mavrokoridis, Konstantinos (Liverpool U.) et al.
A novel imaging technique for thermal neutrons using a fast optical camera is presented. Thermal neutrons are reacted with 6Lithium to produce a pair of 2.73 MeV tritium and 2.05 MeV alpha particles, which in turn interact in a thin layer of LYSO crystal scintillator to produce a localized flash of light. The LHCb VELO Upgrade I, currently being installed for the 2022 start of LHC Run 3, uses silicon microchannel coolers with internally circulating bi-phase \cotwo for thermal control of hybrid pixel modules operating in vacuum. This is the largest scale application of this technology to date. [...]

Micro channel evaporative $CO_2$ cooling for the upgrade of the LHCb vertex detector / Buytaert, J (CERN) ; Collins, P (CERN) ; Dumps, R (CERN) ; Greening, E (Oxford U.) ; John, M (Oxford U.) ; Leflat, A (SINP, Moscow) ; Li, Y (Qinghua U.) ; Mapelli, A (CERN) ; Nomerotski, A (CERN ; Oxford U.) ; Romagnoli, G (Genoa U.) et al.
Local thermal management of detector electronics through ultra-thin micro-structured silicon cooling plates is a very promising technique for pixel detectors in high energy physics experiments, especially at the LHC where the heavily irradiated sensors must be operated at temperatures below − 20 1 C. It combines a very high thermal ef fi ciency with a very low addition of mass and space, and suppresses all problems of CTE mismatch between the heat source and the heat sink [...]

First radiation hardness results of the TeraPixel Active Calorimeter (TPAC) sensor / Price, T (Birmingham U.) ; Coath, R (Rutherford) ; Crooks, J (Rutherford) ; Cussans, D (Bristol U.) ; Dauncey, P (Imperial Coll., London) ; Gao, R (Oxford U.) ; Goldstein, J (Bristol U.) ; Head, R (Bristol U.) ; Nash, S (Bristol U.) ; Nomerotski, A (Oxford U.) et al.
The TeraPixel Active Calorimeter (TPAC) sensor is a novel Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) device developed for use as the active layers of a large area, digital electromagnetic calorimeter (DECAL) at a future e(+)e(-') collider. Further applications, which include the tracking and vertex systems for future lepton colliders and LHC upgrades have been proposed and it is therefore essential to characterise the behaviour of the sensor for these applications. Studies of beauty baryon decays to $D^0 ph^-$ and $\Lambda_c^+ h^-$ final states / LHCb collaboration
Decays of beauty baryons to the $D^0 p h^-$ and $\Lambda_c^+ h^-$ final states (where $h$ indicates a pion or a kaon) are studied using a data sample of $pp$ collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb detector. The Cabibbo-suppressed decays $\Lambda_b^0\to D^0 p K^-$ and $\Lambda_b^0\to \Lambda_c^+ K^-$ are observed and their branching fractions are measured with respect to the decays $\Lambda_b^0\to D^0 p \pi^-$ and $\Lambda_b^0\to \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$. A measurement of the $Z(\rightarrow\mu^+\mu^-)$+jet production cross-section in $pp$ collisions at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV is presented. The analysis is based on an integrated luminosity of $1.0\,\text{fb}^{-1}$ recorded by the LHCb experiment. [...]
