Numerical Calibration of the Bead-Pull Setup for Beam Coupling Impedance Evaluation
/ El Dali, Dalia Mahmoud Fouda (CERN) ; De Michele, Giovanni (ADAM, Geneva) ; Fanella, Stefano (ADAM, Geneva) ; Métral, Elias (CERN) ; Zannini, Carlo (CERN)
The bead-pull method is a commonly used electromagnetic field measurement technique exploited to tune a radiofrequency cavity to achieve design specifications. The frequency of a resonant cavity is perturbed by inserting a metallic or dielectric bead. [...]

A 230 MeV proton LINAC system for medical applications is being developed and commissioned for the LIGHT (Linac Image Guided Hadron Therapy) project by AVO-ADAM. The LINAC system consists of a 750 MHz RFQ (Radio frequency quadrupole) for the low energy proton acceleration, 2998 MHz SCDTL (Side Coupled Drift Tube Linacs) for the medium energy and 2998 MHz CCL (Coupled Cavity Linacs) for the high energy. Beam-based measurements of long-range transverse wakefields in the Compact Linear Collider main-linac accelerating structure
/ Zha, Hao (CERN) ; Latina, Andrea (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; De Michele, Giovanni (CERN ; PSI, Villigen ; LPHE, Lausanne) ; Solodko, Anastasiya (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (SLAC ; Oslo U.) ; Lipkowitz, Nate (SLAC) ; Yocky, Gerald S (SLAC)
The baseline design of CLIC (Compact Linear Collider) uses X-band accelerating structures for its main linacs. In order to maintain beam stability in multibunch operation, long-range transverse wakefields must be suppressed by 2 orders of magnitude between successive bunches, which are separated in time by 0.5 ns. [...]

Beam-Based Measurements of Long Range Transverse Wakefields in CLIC Main Linac Accelerating Structure
/ Zha, Hao (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (Oslo U.) ; De Michele, Giovanni (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne ; PSI, Villigen) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Latina, Andrea (CERN) ; Lipkowitz, Nate (SLAC) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Solodko, Anastasiya (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN) ; Yocky, Gerald (SLAC)
The baseline design of CLIC (Compact Linear Collider) uses X-band accelerating structures in the main linac. Every accelerating structure cell has four waveguides, terminated with individual RF loads, to damp the unwanted long-range transverse wakefields, in order to maintain beam stability in multi-bunch operation. [...]

Wake field monitors in a multi purpose X Band accelerating structure
/ Dehler, M (PSI, Villigen) ; Bettoni, S (PSI, Villigen) ; Beutner, B (PSI, Villigen) ; de Michele, G (PSI, Villigen ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne ; CERN)
In a collaboration between CERN, PSI and Sincrotrone Trieste (ST), a series of four multipurpose X-band accelerating structures has been designed and fabricated. These feature integrated wake field monitors (WFMs), which are
used to measure the alignment (offset and tilt) between structure and beam. [...]
