CEPC Technical Design Report: Accelerator
/ CEPC Study Group Collaboration
The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China, fostered through extensive collaboration with international partners. The complex comprises four accelerators: a 30 GeV Linac, a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring, a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV, and a Collider operating at varying energy modes (Z, W, H, and ttbar). Analysis of identified particle transverse momentum spectra produced in pp, p--Pb and Pb--Pb collisions at the LHC using Tsallis--Pareto-type function
/ Yang, Pei-Pin (Shanxi U.) ; Duan, Mai-Ying (Shanxi U.) ; Liu, Fu-Hu (Shanxi U.) ; Sahoo, Raghunath (Indian Inst. Tech., Indore ; CERN)
In the framework of a multi-source thermal model at the partonic-level, we have analyzed transverse momentum spectra of hadrons measured by the ALICE Collaboration in proton-proton ($pp$ or $p$-$p$) collisions at the center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ and 13 TeV, proton-lead ($p$-Pb) collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV, and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=2.76$ TeV. For meson(baryon), the contributions of two(three) constituent quarks are considered, in which each quark contributes to hadron transverse momentum to obey the revised phenomenological Tsallis transverse momentum distribution for the Maxwell-Boltzmann particles (the TP-like function in short) with isotropic random azimuthal angle. Multiplicity dependencies of midrapidity transverse momentum spectra of identified charged particles in $p+p$ collisions at $(s)^{1/2}$ = 13 TeV at LHC

Multiplicity dependencies of midrapidity $p_t$ spectra of identified charged particles in inelastic $p+p$ collisions at $(s)^{1/2} = $13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), measured by ALICE Collaboration, have been analyzed. The combined minimum $χ^2$ fits with thermodynamically consistent Tsallis function as well as Hagedorn function with the embedded transverse flow describe quite satisfactorily the $p_t$ spectra of particles in the studied 10 different classes of charged-particle multiplicity in inelastic $p+p$ collisions at $(s)^{1/2} = $13 TeV. Precision results on cosmic-ray electrons are presented in the energy range from 0.5 GeV to 1.4 TeV based on 28.1×106 electrons collected by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station. In the entire energy range the electron and positron spectra have distinctly different magnitudes and energy dependences. [...]

Precision measurements of cosmic ray positrons by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station are presented up to 1 TeV based on 1.9 million positrons. The positron flux exhibits a significant excess starting from $25.2 \pm 1.8$ GeV followed by a sharp drop-off above $284^{+91}_{-64}$ GeV.In the entire energy range the positron flux is well described by the sum of a diffuse termassociated with low energy secondary positrons produced in the collision of cosmic rays, and a new source term of high energy positrons with a finite energy cutoff. The finite cutoff energy of the source term, $E_s$, is established with a significance of more than $4 \sigma$, and it's value is determined to be $E_s = 810^{+310}_{-180}$ GeV.These experimental data on cosmic ray positrons show that, at high energies, they predominantly originate either from dark matter collisions or from new astrophysical sources..

We present the precision measurement from May 2011 to May 2017 (79 Bartels rotations) of the proton fluxes at rigidities from 1 to 60 GV and the helium fluxes from 1.9 to 60 GV based on a total of $1 \times 10^9$ events collected with the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer aboard the International Space Station. This measurement is in solar cycle 24, which has the solar maximum in April 2014. [...]
