Upgrade of the PS booster-to-ISOLDE beam transfer line to facilitate an increase in proton driver energy / Fraser, Matthew (CERN) ; Bernardes, Ana (CERN) ; Newborough, Antony (CERN) ; del Alamo, Daniel (CERN) ; Grenier-Boley, Edouard (CERN) ; Pozzi, Fabio (CERN) ; Di Giovanni, Gian Piero (CERN) ; Corso, Jean-Pierre (CERN) ; Vollaire, Joachim (CERN) ; Ferreira Somoza, Jose (CERN) et al.
Following the successful completion of the LHC Injectors Upgrade (LIU) project, since 2021 the Proton Synchrotron (PS) Booster has served the LHC injector chain with protons at an increased kinetic energy of 2 GeV. An upgrade of the ISOLDE (Isotope Separator On-Line DEvice) facility has long been considered to produce radioactive ion beams with a higher energy proton driver beam. [...]

Status of CLIC Magnets Studies and R / Modena, Michele (CERN) ; Aloev, Alexander (CERN) ; Solodko, Evgeny (CERN) ; Thonet, Pierre-Alexandre (CERN) ; Vorozhtsov, Alexey (CERN)
Since 2009 the CERN Magnet Group (CERN-TE-MSC) started R&D; activities in order to focalize the most challenging and interesting cases to be studied among the magnets needed for CLIC the Compact Linear Collider. In the last four years several theoretic studies, models and prototypes were realized mainly in two domains: magnets for the Modules, the modular elements that are composing the backbone of the two-beam linac structure of CLIC, and the Machine Detector Interface (MDI) including the Final Focus elements, and the anti-solenoid. Relativistic particle measurement in jupiter’s magnetosphere with Pix.PAN / Hulsman, Johannes (Geneva U.) ; Wu, Xin (Geneva U.) ; Azzarello, Philipp (Geneva U.) ; Bergmann, Benedikt (CTU, Prague) ; Campbell, Michael (CERN) ; Clark, George (Johns Hopkins U.) ; Cadoux, Franck (Geneva U.) ; Ilzawa, Tomoya (Geneva U.) ; Kollmann, Peter (Johns Hopkins U.) ; Llopart, Xavi (CERN) et al.
Pix.PAN is a compact cylindrical magnetic spectrometer, intended to provide excellent high energy particle measurements under high rate and hostile operating conditions in space. Its principal design is composed of two Halbach-array magnetic sectors and six Timepix4-based tracking layers; the latest hybrid silicon pixel detector readout ASIC designed. [...]

Protection of extraction septa during asynchronous beam dumps in HL-LHC operation / Farina, E (CERN) ; Atanasov, M (CERN) ; Borburgh, J (CERN) ; Bracco, C (CERN) ; Dutheil, Y (CERN) ; Lechner, A (CERN) ; Maestre, J (CERN) ; Muñoz, P Andreu (CERN) ; Nuiry, F X (CERN) ; Schwarz, P (CERN) et al.
The LHC beam dump system was developed to safely and reliably dispose of the LHC beams at the end of physics fills or in case of emergency aborts. The beams are extracted by means of kicker magnets, deflecting the beams horizontally, and septa, which provide a vertical kick. [...]

The excellent performance of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the extension of Run 3 by one year have led to a significant increase of the expected integrated luminosity by the end of its operation and before the start of the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), exceeding the design LHC integrated luminosity of 300 fb−1 for which the final focus region has been designed. Middle East Technical University Defocusing Beam Line (METU-DBL) performs the Single Event Effects (SEEs) radiation tests with protons in the range of 15 MeV to 30 MeV kinetic energy at Turkish Atomic Energy Authority Proton Accelerator Facility (TENMAK NÜKEN-PAF) for space and nuclear applications. The most critical beam transfer elements in the METU-DBL are three quadrupole magnets, which are used for defocusing the beam like optical lenses. [...]

Design, Manufacture and Measurement of Three Permanent Magnet Dipoles for FASER Experiment / Thonet, P A (CERN) ; Dunkel, O (CERN) ; Liebsch, M (CERN) ; Pentella, M (CERN) ; Petrone, C (CERN)
FASER, the ForwArd Search ExpeRiment, is designed to search for new, yet undiscovered, light and weakly-interacting particles and study the interactions of high-energy neutrinos. Three dipoles, one 1.5 m-long and the other two 1.0 m-long each, installed upstream of the ATLAS experiment at CERN, are required to achieve sufficient separation of pairs of oppositely charged, high-energy Standard Model particles originating from decays of new physics particles. Design and Manufacturing of Two High Gradient Quadrupoles Based on Permanent Magnets for the CERN Antiproton Decelerator / Thonet, P A (CERN)
In the frame of the consolidation of the Antiproton Decelerator (AD) Target Area it was decided to replace the two original normal conducting quadrupoles used for the final focusing of the proton beam before the target by two 1.1 m long quadrupoles based on permanent magnet technology. Their gradient is adjustable from 35 to 45 T/m inside an aperture of 60 mm in diameter. [...]

The FASER detector / FASER Collaboration
FASER, the ForwArd Search ExpeRiment, is an experiment dedicated to searching for light, extremely weakly-interacting particles at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Such particles may be produced in the very forward direction of the LHC's high-energy collisions and then decay to visible particles inside the FASER detector, which is placed 480 m downstream of the ATLAS interaction point, aligned with the beam collisions axis.
