Preparation and Execution of the Electrical Quality Assurance Program On the LHC Superconducting Circuits During the Second Long Shutdown / Ludwin, Jaromir (CERN) ; Bednarek, Mateusz (CERN) ; Bednarski, Mikolaj (CERN ; Cracow, INP) ; Bielewski, Jaroslaw (CERN ; Cracow, INP) ; Bogdali, Pawel (CERN ; Cracow, INP) ; D'Angelo, Giorgio (CERN) ; Daniluk, Witold (CERN ; Cracow, INP) ; Dutkiewicz, Erazm Maria (CERN ; Cracow, INP) ; Grzadziel, Dominik (CERN ; Cracow, INP) ; Janik, Grzegorz (CERN ; Cracow, INP) et al.
The electrical quality assurance (ELQA) of the superconducting circuits of CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) during its second Long Shutdown (LS2) requires the execution of vast measurement campaigns. Each of 1658 electrical circuits as well as the instrumentation of each of the 1746 individual cryo-assemblies housing magnets, bus-bars and other components of the superconducting circuits, has to undergo a series of tests. [...]

Evaluation of an SFP Based Test Loop for a Future Upgrade of the Optical Transmission for CERN’s Beam Interlock System / Secondo, Raffaello (CERN) ; Galilée, Marc-Antoine (CERN) ; Garnier, Jean-Christophe (CERN) ; Martin, Christophe (CERN) ; Romera, Iván (CERN) ; Siemko, Andrzej (CERN) ; Uythoven, Jan (CERN)
The Beam Interlock System (BIS) is the backbone of CERN’s machine protection system. The BIS is responsible for relaying the so-called Beam Permit signal, initiating in case of need the controlled removal of the beam by the LHC Beam Dumping System. [...]

Performance of the Large Hadron Collider's Cryogenic Bypass Diodes Over the First Two Physics Runs, Future Projects, and Perspectives / D'Angelo, Giorgio (CERN) ; Charifoulline, Zinour (CERN) ; Denz, Reiner (CERN) ; Favre, Mathieu (CERN) ; Hagedorn, Dietrich (CERN) ; Monteuuis, Arnaud (CERN) ; Rodriguez-Mateos, Felix (CERN) ; Siemko, Andrzej (CERN) ; Stachon, Krzysztof (CERN) ; Verweij, Arjan (CERN) et al.
Cryogenic bypass diodes have been installed in all superconducting dipole magnets (1232) and quadrupole magnets (392) of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, and operated during the physics runs since 2009. The bypass diodes are a fundamental ingredient of the quench protection system for those main dipoles and quadrupoles magnets. [...]
