Intruder configurations in $^{29}$Ne at the transition into the island of inversion: Detailed structure study of $^{28}$Ne / Wang, H. (RIKEN (main)) ; Yasuda, M. (Tokyo Inst. Tech.) ; Kondo, Y. (Tokyo Inst. Tech.) ; Nakamura, T. (Tokyo Inst. Tech.) ; Tostevin, J.A. (Tokyo Inst. Tech. ; Surrey U.) ; Ogata, K. (Kyushu U., Fukuoka (main) ; Osaka U., Res. Ctr. Nucl. Phys.) ; Otsuka, T. (CERN ; Nishina Ctr., RIKEN) ; Poves, A. (Madrid, Autonoma U.) ; Shimizu, N. (Tsukuba U.) ; Yoshida, K. (JAEA, Ibaraki) et al.
Detailed $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy of the exotic neon isotope $^{28}$Ne has been performed for the first time using the one-neutron removal reaction from $^{29}$Ne on a liquid hydrogen target at 240~MeV/nucleon. Based on an analysis of parallel momentum distributions, a level scheme with spin-parity assignments has been constructed for $^{28}$Ne and the negative-parity states are identified for the first time. Strong Coupling Constant from the Photon Structure Function / Simon Albino (Institut fuer Theoretische Physik, Universität Hamburg), (speaker)
We extract the value of the strong coupling constant alphas from a single-parameter pointlike fit to the photon structure function F2(gamma) at large x and Q2 and from a first five-parameter full (pointlike and hadronic) fit to the complete F2(gamma) data set taken at PETRA, TRISTAN, and LEP. In next-to-leading order and the MSbar renormalization and factorization schemes, we obtain alphas (mZ) = 0.1183 ± 0.0050 (exp.) +0.0029/-0.0028 (theor.) [pointlike] and alphas (mZ) = 0.1198 ± 0.0028 (exp.) +0.0034/-0.0046 (theor.) [pointlike and hadronic]. [...]

Design, production, and testing of superconducting magnets for the Super-FRS / Müller, Hans (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Allain, Hervé (IRFU, Saclay) ; Borceto, Alice (ASG Supercond., Genova) ; Cho, Eun Jung (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Daly, Michael (IRFU, Saclay) ; Drago, Giovanni (ASG Supercond., Genova) ; Golluccio, Giancarlo (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Grafin, Pierre (IRFU, Saclay) ; Lucas, Julio (Elytt, Madrid) ; Madur, Arnaud (IRFU, Saclay) et al.
The Super FRS is a two-stage in flight separator to be built next to the site of GSI, Darmstadt, Germany as part of FAIR (Facility for Anti-proton and Ion Research). Its purpose is to create and separate rare isotope beams and to enable the mass measurement also for very short lived nuclei. [...]

New test of modulated electron capture decay of hydrogen-like $^{142}$Pm ions: precision measurement of purely exponential decay / FRS-ESR Collaboration
An experiment addressing electron capture (EC) decay of hydrogen-like $^{142}$Pm$^{60+}$ ions has been conducted at the experimental storage ring (ESR) at GSI. The decay appears to be purely exponential and no modulations were observed. [...]
