Tracer diffusion of 44Ti, 46Sc and 89Zr in the hexagonal close-packed (HCP) HfScTiZr multicomponent alloy is investigated using the radiotracer technique. The microstructure stability is thoroughly examined by conducting prolonged heat treatments between 873 K and 1373 K to mimic the diffusion conditions. [...]

As$^{\textrm{III}}$ Selectively Induces a Disorder-to-Order Transition in the Metalloid Binding Region of the AfArsR Protein / Tóth, Annamária ; Sajdik, Kadosa ; Gyurcsik, Béla ; Nafaee, Zeyad H ; Wéber, Edit ; Kele, Zoltan ; Christensen, Niels Johan ; Schell, Juliana (CERN) ; Correia, Joao Guilherme (CERN) ; Clauss, Kajsa G V Sigfridsson et al.
Arsenic is highly toxic and a significant threat to human health, but certain bacteria have developed defense mechanisms initiated by AsIII binding to AsIII-sensing proteins of the ArsR family. The transcriptional regulator AfArsR responds to AsIII and SbIII by coordinating the metalloids with three cysteines, located in a short sequence of the same monomer chain. [...]

Emission $^{57}$Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy (eMS), following the implantation of radioactive $^{57}$Mn+ ions, has been used to study the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field at Fe sites in Ba-doped BiFeO$_3$ (BFO) thin films. $^{57}$Mn β decays (t$_{1/2}$ = 90 s) to the 14.4 keV Mössbauer state of $^{57}$Fe, thus allowing online eMS measurements at a selection of sample temperatures during Mn implantation. Cd implantation in α-MoO3: An atomic scale study / Gerami, Adeleh Mokhles (IPM, Tehran ; CERN) ; Heiniger-Schell, Juliana (CERN ; Duisburg-Essen U.) ; da Silva, E Lora (Porto U.) ; Costa, Messias S (Para U.) ; Costa, Cleidilane S (Para U.) ; Monteiro, João G (IST/ITN, Lisbon) ; Pires, José J (Lisbon, CFTP) ; Pereira, Daniela R (Lisbon, ISEL) ; Díaz-Guerra, Carlos (Madrid U.) ; Carbonari, Artur W (IPEN, Sao Paulo) et al.
Lamellar α-MoO3 crystals were implanted with low fluence of radioactive Cd111m ions at ISOLDE-CERN. Subsequently, we have probed the interaction of the Cd impurity in the lattice with native point defects, such as oxygen vacancies, as a function of annealing temperature using the time differential perturbed angular correlations nanoscopic technique.
