Nuclear knockout reactions at relativistic energies provide a sensitive tool to determine the ground state properties of nuclei close to the drip line. Studies with kinematically complete measurements reveal the initial correlations in the reacting systems and yield spectroscopic information on the continuum states populated in the decay channel. News on $\beta$-delayed particle emission from $^{14}$Be
/ ISOLDE Collaboration
$\beta$-delayed charged particles from $^{14}$Be have been measured and give an upper limit on $\beta$-delayed $\alpha$-particles of B($\beta\alpha$) < $\,6.7\times\!10^{-5}$ and a tentative branching ratio on $\beta$-delayed tritons of $7.5\times\!10^{-5}$ < B($\beta$t) < $\,3.9\times\!10^{-4}$. We combine the knowledge on $\beta$-delayed particles from $^{14}$Be to deduce information on the $\beta$-strength distribution..

Dissociation of a 240 MeV/u beam of sup 6 He, incident on carbon and lead targets, has been studied in kinematically complete experiments to investigate low-lying excitation modes in the halo nucleus sup 6 He. It is shown that alignment effects characterize the inelastic scattering and allow an unambiguous assignment of the spin of a narrow resonance observed in the excitation energy spectrum. [...]
